Reviews
Hotel transfer to Nizamuddin Station, with assistance to your train seat. Upon arrival in Agra, our guide promptly met us and we toured the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. The lunch menu was extensive and very delicious. The return trip to our hotel in Delhi was also well-supported and flawless. Since Agra is far, the train is definitely recommended over a car!
We booked this tour as two women! From the hotel to our train seats, and then upon arrival at the station, we were met right on the platform. At the Taj Mahal, we had a Japanese-speaking guide who also took photos for us. Lunch was an Indian buffet, and everything was delicious. In the latter half of the tour, they asked us what we wanted to do and took us to a tea shop and for an Ayurvedic massage. While it might be cheaper to arrange everything independently, we experienced absolutely none of the typical stresses of traveling in India and were able to fully enjoy ourselves. Both the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort were extremely hot during this time of year, and we nearly suffered from heatstroke. I recommend visiting during a cooler season.
One word Awesomenessss!!!!!!! As a solo female traveler, I felt so safe during the trip and was able to enjoy sightseeing to the fullest. The driver guided me all the way to my seat and pick me up from the train without me getting lost in the station. They drove safely in this crazy traffic as well. Guide Mr Shakeel were very sociable and knowledgable, he also help to took photos. Planner Mr Abhinav was very helpful, detailed, instructions were conveyed cleary. Thanks to him and his wonderful and team, this trip was so pleasant. Went home feeling educated and satisfied. PS: Food served in the train exceeded my expectation and lunch was extremely delicious. They served veg/non veg options, good for everyone. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting agra!
We had a delightful experience on our Taj Mahal tour and highly recommend the seamless door-to-door service the local tour operator provides. Despite booking the trip at the last minute, Abhinav efficiently secured our train tickets by promptly collecting personal details. Our day began with a driver picking us up around 6:30 AM to take us to the train station. He dropped us off and guided us through the station, ensuring we reached the correct platform, train car, and seats on the Gatimaan Express. This extra assistance was invaluable, as navigating the chaotic train stations can be challenging for foreigners. Upon arriving at Agra station, our English-speaking guide warmly greeted us at the train exit and escorted us to a dedicated car arranged for our trip. The guide, Sakil, was incredibly knowledgeable and made exploring the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and a local handicraft center insightful and enjoyable. The Taj Mahal was breathtaking, and Sakil went above and beyond by helping us capture many memorable photos. After the tour, we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Bon Barbeque, which was included in the package. The unlimited vegetarian and non-vegetarian barbecue options were fantastic, and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. A quick coffee stop at a local café rounded off our visit. We returned to New Delhi by train, arriving around 7:40 PM, where another driver was waiting to take us back to our hotel. Overall, the entire day was exceptionally well organized. Abhinav and his team orchestrated a door-to-door experience that made our trip to the Taj Mahal stress-free and unforgettable. We highly recommend this service to anyone visiting the area!
I think it would be better if the course guide mentioned that passport information is required to arrange the train. I was in a hurry to gather the information for everyone in the group when I received a sudden inquiry. However, the person in charge of arranging the trip was kind and answered my anxious questions promptly, and the local guide was also good. Regarding the experience of cutting a sari, I would have liked them to ask me if I wanted to try wearing it after first showing me the price. I was able to take some interesting photos, but to be honest, it wasn't necessary considering the time and cost. The local guides and staff were very nice.
Even though we were short on time to leave Delhi late at night on the day of our tour, we were able to do our sightseeing without any problems thanks to their advice. The tour was great, and the Japanese guide explained things to us in detail. They also guided us to our seats when we got on and off the train, so it was a comfortable train journey.
Honest review on this half-day itinerary. First let me start off by saying that I made this trip during the Monsoon season so my experience might be different for those travelling in Summer or Winter seasons in India. The day began with seamless hotel pickup and transfer to the train station. Mr Ram even showed me my first class seat before bidding bye. Awesome service. Upon arriving at Agra, Mr Vikash took over and we began an incredible exploration of the iconic Taj Mahal! What a stunning piece of art! As it was a one-on-one tour guiding, I received the most meticulous explanation from Mr Vikash, right from the history of the building to the somewhat tragic ending of the very king who decreed its construction. We had authentic northern Indian cuisine as lunch. Pro tip: For those who love mutton, this place is absolutely fabulous! After lunch was where things fell a bit short of expectations. I was taken to visit a gem engraving shop which was not part of the itinerary. Basically just a shop selling overpriced items. The itinerary ended with the Agra Fort which I couldn’t enjoy as the weather towards the afternoon was scaldingly hot and humid. Was sweating profusely throughout. Pro tip: Bring lots of water and a towel! The day ended with me traveling back on the train to Delhi which was smooth. Just wondering why the “platform fee” of 10 Rupees was not included in the package which could have been easily done so. Baffling indeed. Overall great itinerary and I had my bucket list chekced for doing yet another Wonders of the World!
I have traveled abroad alone, but traveling alone in India is difficult and tiring because there are many solicitors and beggars, so I used a tour. Even though security is strict at the hotel, the guide came 10 minutes early and we were able to meet smoothly. The train seat was reserved for me several days in advance, and he guided me to my seat on the train. As soon as I got off the train, the guide was waiting for me, which was very reassuring. I was guided in Japanese at the site, and I thought there was no way I could do it alone. The Taj Mahal has strict restrictions on luggage, and the timing of taking photos is difficult, so I was able to take good photos with his guidance. For lunch, I was able to eat delicious Indian food at a nice restaurant in Agra. The food was explained in detail, and the taste was to Japanese tastes, not too spicy, and I was able to enjoy it. After that, we did various sightseeing, and it was a really good trip without stress until the end at the hotel.
I was blessed with good weather and was generally satisfied. I traveled alone, but the reason I took the tour was because 1) it was a hassle to look up directions from Delhi, and 2) I wanted to receive explanations in Japanese. For example, there are some baggage that you cannot bring into the Taj Mahal, and you can leave unnecessary baggage in the tour company's car, so I think it was the right decision. Also, I don't think it's impossible to go alone, but it's more efficient to walk while listening to the guide's explanation than to walk while looking up directions on your phone. You will be guided to souvenir shops where Japanese is spoken, but you don't have to buy anything if you don't, and there's no problem if you don't. Finally, I had some time left before the train back, so I went to an Ayurvedic store, but when they wiped the oil off my scalp with a towel, there was a problem with the way they wiped it off, and a lot of hair fell out. It may have something to do with the compatibility with the masseuse, but personally, I vowed to never do it again. It was a learning experience in itself. Jokes aside (although it's mostly true), the last point I want to tell you is whether to take the train or the car. I chose the train because a) it seemed faster, b) it seemed safer than driving, and c) I wanted to try it once, but a may not be that different when you consider the pick-up and waiting time. b) I think driving is also safe in India. So I think you should decide based on whether you want to ride c. Is this the level of first class? (The train is old and not very clean), but I think that's also an experience. Abhinav from Seven Wonder Tour & Travels, who arranged the tour, kept in touch with me in detail so I had no worries. He is gentle, quick to respond, and professional. Vinay, the Japanese guide, was knowledgeable and helpful in taking photos. The lunch included in the tour fee was very delicious. It was a very enjoyable time, and I'm grateful to Abhinav and his team. I recommend it!
The tour was great highly recommend. My tour guide shakeel was very nice and accomodating in showing me around agra.🙂
