Yogyakarta: Borobudur Sunrise ( Guarantee Climb-up) & Prambanan

Had a smooth sailing trip to both Borobudur and Prambanan Temple thanks to our guide AG. He was really attentive at accommodating to our needs and made sure we were comfortable. He also recommended a few eating spots and helped us out when we needed some other tour arrangements.

Fun and amazing trip! waking up at 3AM to see the sunrise from Borobudur temple was all worth it! Prambanan temple is also worth the visit even in the scorching sun. Requested a quick visit to the Chicken Church which was near Borobudur temple and I was surprised about the facts abouth this “church.” - I think this should also be part of the tour! :) My driver/guide Arya was very friendly and accompdating. He made sure I was comfortable throughtout the tour.

Ujeee was our tour guide and driver for this trip, and the experience was excellent! Before the tour, he contacted us via a messaging app, and on the day of the tour, he picked us up promptly at 3:15 AM. His driving skills were superb! Throughout the trip, Ujeee chatted with us, and on the way back, he even introduced us to the streets of the city as we passed through, making for a very friendly experience. Upon entering Borobudur, another guide led our small group (likely a dedicated staff member provided by the park). Although the weather was a bit cloudy that day and we didn't see the sunrise, we happened to encounter monks meditating, and the morning was very peaceful, allowing us to fully appreciate the beauty of the religion. The surrounding mountains were also beautiful! Breakfast was a buffet. Most participants in the sunrise tour were Westerners, and we noticed they ate very little and left quickly. However, as Taiwanese, we found the fried noodles, stir-fried beef, and banana pancakes to be delicious! After breakfast, we went to Prambanan Temple, which also features very distinctive religious architecture. The stairs here are quite steep, so be careful when going up and down! On the way to the exit, you'll pass through a market-like area, which is also worth exploring. We also stopped at a civet coffee place, and the civet cats were adorable!

The experience was amazing. It was an easy booking. Everything was taken care of, from the pick-up and drop off. My driver tour guide Ujee was wonderful and friendly. He made sure everything was in place and that I won't have any problem with my tickets. The car was cool and comfortable. He even organised a tour guide for me on my Prebanam tour. Akmal, my tour guide. was excellent and a wealth of knowledge. He explained the history of Prebanam with details. He took his time and did not rush. It was an overall satisfying experience.

This trip was really great, with packed activities to explore Yogyakarta. Our driver Ujeee was punctual to pick us up from our hotel, and his driving skill was great so that we could still nap on the way to see the runrise. He can speak English very well so we could ask questions about the local culture, religion and fun stories to learn better about each visiting site. When we book this trip, the Borobudur top ticket was sold out from the official site, but with this trip we got enjoy the nice view and architecture of the top 3 levels, and it was the best part of Borobudur I strongly recommend. Despite the heavy traffic, Ujeee still took us to all the places and even brought us to tast luwak coffee and make batik painting. We ended and returned to hotel around 7pm, that’s way pass the tours planned end time, thanks to our driver to make it complete and full of happy memories!

Great communication all along and a friendly and thoughtful guide. There was a last minute change in itinerary but were flexible to change according to our needs. Grateful that we had a private tour to ourselves and our driver, Aditya arranged a very good guide Jono at Prambanam. The only thing that wasn’t as nice was the batik workshop as I think Tingal Art would have been better but perhaps it was more for convenience as the one we went to was next to Kopi Luwak Mataram that we visited (instead of Puntuk Setumbu hills as my elderly Mum could not walk that). Our driver/ guide really was so lovely and he made our day truly special. Thank you

This tour is worth the money as we can cover most of the iconic places in Jogja in just one day without any hassle or tiredness. Appreciate the agency who provided the tour. Specially Mr. Miko who accompanied us throughout the trip was a great guy, very supportive and he explained things on the way. He recommended us watching the 'RAMAYANA BALLET' in Pranbanan. which was epic and came with additional charger and self-paid tickets which is also an incredible experience. We started the journey on time as mentioned on the itinerary of the trip. It was a well planned tour. Although there were time delays from our end as we were spending more time in Chicken Chirch, which could have ended up missing Pranbanan and Sewu Temple(bcz it closes at 5 PM), Mr. Miko rushed us and tried his best to show us the place. Also Mr. Miko suggested us good budget friendly restaurants with Indonesian food. In terms of locations most iconic ones are the Setumbu hills, Borobudur, Mount Merapi and Pranbanan from my perspective. Mount Merapi there are 3 options based on locations within Merapi area. Short trip, Medium Trip and Long trip. The time within this only allows us to see short trip of 1 hr -1.5 hr which covers Bunker, museum and mountain view. Although we wanted to take Medium trip with an extra charge, we didn't have enough time. But if anyone can spend less time in Chicken Church or Borobudur should be able to manage the time for a medium tour in Merapi. We highly recommend this trip anyone visiting Jogja for a short trip.

Thanks to the wonderful car and the very friendly and considerate driver, we enjoyed a comfortable trip that felt like a private tour. The detailed explanations of Borobudur and Prambanan, available in both English and Japanese, were excellent opportunities to learn about the history of these sites. I highly recommend this wonderful tour to anyone visiting Yogyakarta. I would like to express my gratitude once again to the driver who was dispatched for us.

A worthwhile experience! Besides the beautiful sunrise, we learnt so much about the rich cultural heritage of Yogyakarta in just one day. Our tour guides Kenny and Akmal were knowledgeable, fun-loving and answered all our questions. Special shout out to our driver Ujeee, who was really reliable and arrived at our hotel even earlier than our meeting time so that we were ready to go once we gathered at the lobby. He reserved the tickets on our behalf beforehand and guided us through the admin process for the temple visits step-by-step, which was helpful as we were not familiar with it. He also shared good recommendations on local places to visit and went the extra mile to answer our queries. He is friendly and speaks English well, which really made the day comfortable and pleasant even though we started very early in the morning. Overall, besides the views and cultural heritage, the amazing hospitality of our guides and driver was the cherry on top that made this a five-star experience!

We had a great experience with our tour. Seeing Borobudur and Prambanan in person and witnessing the rising sun over the stupa and the surrounding forest was a truly magical experience. Our driver/guide, Ujeee was very warm and accommodating. He also add local perspective to both places and with really made it memorable to us. Thank you so much!
