Reviews
Lunch was delicious and tour guide Atsuko was really helpful, explaining the matches throughout in English. The box seats we got were right in the centre and I enjoyed the matches very much!
Totally worth going if you can catch the this seasonal event. We had a good time speaking with our guide and learning more about the sumo culture and watching the exciting matches.
I felt quite disappointed when I saw that the whole tournament is booked out and I have to book the tour which is much more expensive , but in the end it was totally worth it! The guide Yuumi-san was very sweet and explained us everything and gave materials to read up on sumo that helped to follow what is going on. And the tournament itself was totally stunning. Please keep in mind that you will have to seat it a spectator box for 4 persons, which is quite small and requires you to kneel or sit legs cross crossed. If it is a problem, you might be in trouble.
Good experience overall. A little disappointed by the very “basic” lunch. The sumo tournament on the other hand was great and the places, although far away, were great.
It was a great experience to watch Sumo wrestling in Japan but the box seats were very uncomfortable. I know it is Japan they are used to sitting on these pillows but it is tight seating for 4 adults. I watched the first half in in the cafeteria and waited to watch the final fights. The actual tour guide Hitoshi was very informative. And the dinner was good also! Overall great experience!
Great experience. Day flowed easily. Lunch was a great addition. The company couldn’t get the guide a ticket, as it was sold out, so she couldn’t join us in the arena, but she made sure we knew which doors to best leave from and asked if anyone wanted to meet her after the competition so she could walk them back to the train station.
perfectly organized, experienced & passionate guide. A big thank you for this unforgettable day!
