Reviews
I really enjoyed my time at the half-day elephant sanctuary. When choosing from the many sanctuaries, I chose one without direct contact activities like direct feeding or bathing. The touch of strangers would be stressful for the elephants. Instead, I enjoyed the activity of preparing meals, and when I met the elephants and heard their stories, I was a little sad, but I was glad that they are now healthy!
The sanctuary is vast, amongst lush greenery. Facilities are clean and well-maintained. I appreciate that they don’t allow touching or bathing of the elephants, prioritising the safety of the visitors, as well as the elephants’ welfare. You get to see the elephants in their element, as they roam freely. Our guide was also warm and knowledgable. Loved every minute of it!
experience: Very enjoyable experience - super ethical, no touching or bathing with the elephants, just observing them and helping to prepare food for them. At the end we cooked some Pad Thai and Tom yum for lunch. instructor: Our guide Mr. Daeng was super knowledgable and funny also ☆ Highly recommend.
great experience visiting the elephant sanctuary! exceeded my expectations and we got to learn more about them.
very educational and ethical elephant sanctuary, nice tour to understand this place and the elephants
An absolutely unforgettable experience at Phuket Elephant Nature Reserve. What sets this sanctuary apart is its genuinely ethical approach — no riding, no bathing, no touching, just respectful observation of rescued elephants living as elephants should. That hands-off philosophy was exactly why I chose it, and it made the experience even more meaningful. The guides were passionate and educational, sharing each elephant’s story with so much care, and you can feel the sanctuary puts welfare above tourism. Watching these majestic animals roam freely in a natural environment was humbling and beautiful. If you want an authentic, responsible elephant experience in Phuket, this is the place. Amazing, ethical, and deeply moving.
It was fun to prepare and feed the elephants, and I could feel the facility's genuine dedication to protecting them.
Amazing experience!! Our guide Porche was just the best. We took the tour with cooking and the food was also very good. Highly recommend this place 'cause there is no touching or beathing the elephants ❤️ The place is very well taken care of and the animals as well. Thank you!
Lovely sanctuary very educational and seems quite ethical. There was no elephant riding, scrubbing, etc. The elephants are rescued from touristy places and living with elephant care takers. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable.
We looked at many similar products before choosing this project. Although activities like bathing elephants looked fun, the water didn't seem very clean, so we chose this one. The more important reason was that it was very close to Bangtao Beach where we lived, which was very important because Phuket was very congested. And the short 90-minute schedule was very tight, giving us more time to explore various activities on the island.
