Reviews
The Mývatn Nature Baths were a highlight—warm, mineral-rich waters with fewer crowds than Sky and Blue Lagoon, and stunning views over the volcanic landscape. Relaxing, peaceful, and well worth the visit. One downside is the walk from the building to the pool in the gusty wind was very torturous.
The facilities of the Myvatn hot springs are more like a public swimming pool than the Blue Lagoon. The water inside is hotter than the Blue Lagoon, and it is real hot spring water with a strong sulfur smell. You may even sweat while soaking. You need to walk a little distance from the shower room to the hot spring pool. If the temperature outside is only 5 or 6 degrees, it will still feel very far. There are many small stones in their pools, so be careful not to fall or accidentally scratch yourself. In addition, the hot water in the shower room can be 38 degrees, which is very comfortable, and 45 degrees, which can burn your scalp. Be careful. But generally speaking, people who want to soak in hot springs to warm their bodies are suitable to come here, and the recommended fee is cheaper than the Blue Lagoon.
nice experience for the nature bath. freezing cold and windy outside. good to have a sunny day during our visit in winter. not so much visitor as we went in the earliest slot. good shampoo and conditioner provided. value for money.
This ticket does not come with a towel! The hot spring is more comfortable than the Blue Lagoon, and the body will be slippery, but the wind is stronger and the equipment is not as good as the Blue Lagoon.
This is my first time to soak in this kind of blue hot spring ♨️, it’s very beautiful and easy to take pictures of. The Blue Lagoon is more expensive and this one is cheaper and it’s almost the same.
It was very easy to soak in and very comfortable. Unfortunately, it rained that day and the photos taken were gloomy. I would like to go there again if I have the chance.
This was our last minute plan but it was all worth it. The place is very clean and decently crowded as well. You get access to washrooms, shower (with Shampoo+ Shower gel provided), Sauna. You will have to pay extra for food drinks. Was very soothing after a long day.
Myvatn bath was smaller compared to the blue lagoon. although the entry was cheaper. Blue lagoon had more area to go around, mask, free drink inclusive. for the north iceland, i think this was a good stop, also maybe a different experience.
A relaxing experience in the backdrop of autumn. The hot spring pools are decent and the steam rooms are okay too. There is shower gel, shampoo and conditioner provided in the communal shower area (some cubicles are provided with shower curtains). Next to the main pool, cold water is provided to patrons to drink.
Went in the evening and it was still quite busy. Staff was helpful and check-in was smooth. The changing rooms were okay but the showers were mostly communal, would have preferred a private shower space but there were only 2 cubicles in the ladies. Water temperature is 30-41 depending on which pool you go in. The pools were poorly lit so felt it was a bit dangerous walking across pools in the dark. The bottom of the pools were filled with coarse black sands which hurt the feet a little. It was very crowded in one of the hotter pools and guests were chatting non-stop in really loud voices. Understand it was not the fault of the host, but the experience is not for those who want to enjoy a relaxing quiet time in a hot pool.
