Reviews summaryIf your accommodation is located in the Old Quarter, complimentary shuttle service will be provided. A few days before your departure, someone will contact you to confirm your address and departure time. On the day of your trip, someone will meet you at the agreed-upon address, so there's no need to worry about finding them! After boarding, you'll be driven directly to the boat dock, with a rest stop along the way. Once on board, there will be a general overview of the two-day itinerary. After a short break following lunch, you'll visit Surprise Cave. Then, you'll have a choice between taking a boat or a kayak (if you choose kayaking, be prepared for your clothes to get wet). Afterward, back on the boat, there's a Vietnamese spring roll making experience. Dinner was delicious and very satisfying. The night squid fishing is more about the experience. The morning Tai Chi was canceled due to rain. Finally, after visiting Ti Top Island, we prepared for the return journey. On the way back, you can discuss your drop-off location. Overall, the food and service were excellent. Drinks on the boat require an additional charge. You can take advantage of happy hour or bring your own food on board. I noticed many travelers left their large luggage at a hotel in the city and only brought two days' worth of luggage onto the boat, which is a good tip for others.
This two-day, one-night cruise was my first time sleeping on a boat, and I was really excited! There were so many activities planned on board, so there was never a dull moment. If you're planning to go kayaking, I recommend bringing an extra set of clothes so you can change right away when you get back to the boat. 😂 The people on the trip came from all over, and it was great to interact with everyone; the atmosphere was really good and fun. Drinks on the boat cost extra, so it's good to be prepared for that. Sometimes, you'll even encounter boatmen in smaller boats selling things alongside, which is a unique experience worth trying! Finally, a special thank you to our guide, Maddie, who was attentive and friendly, making our trip a truly pleasant and unforgettable experience. 🤍🩵
A Must Read: If you're still hesitating about the price, don't, because the trip is worth more than that. Because we traveled during the off-season, there were only about 20 people in our group, so the quality of the tour was excellent. I'm guessing that even during peak season, there would be fewer than 40 people, which is less than other companies. The rooms are very well-designed, clean, and each has a balcony. Plus, the beds face the sea, so you can lie in bed and watch the ocean. The itinerary is the same as other companies, but the tour guide is very funny and will help you take photos for free! The food is also quite delicious. Please note that this trip does not include alcoholic drinks. I recommend buying some to support and make the crew happy! Also, due to environmental concerns, plastic bottles are strictly prohibited on board. Ha Long Bay's winter scenery is very much like an ink painting, and doing Tai Chi in the morning is just fantastic.
The room was fully booked on our originally planned date, but fortunately Aaron from the local travel agency actively assisted us and helped us rebook on the Calista Cruise. Although it required an additional fee of 1,000,000 VND for two people, this cruise ship was very new and modern, and the overall experience was well worth it – we loved it! After Aaron learned that we were celebrating a birthday, he arranged a special surprise, allowing me to spend an amazing and unforgettable birthday in Ha Long Bay! We are very grateful for his proactive handling of various issues and arrangements throughout the process; his service attitude is truly commendable! We also sincerely thank all the staff at Calista Cruise, each of whom was kind and attentive, making us feel warmth and professionalism throughout our trip!
A big shoutout to Aaron, who assisted us throughout the trip. He was incredibly helpful, attentive, and friendly, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. His service really stood out. One of the most heartwarming surprises was walking into our room to find thoughtful decorations arranged just for us. It was such a lovely gesture that made the trip feel even more special and personalized. The food was tasty, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the entire crew was warm and accommodating. We also enjoyed the water activities and just lounging on deck with the sea breeze around us. Highly recommended for couples, families, or anyone looking for a peaceful, luxurious escape from the city. Calista delivered a memorable experience with a personal touch. Tip: Let them know in advance if you’re celebrating something special — they might surprise you in the best way! All the best to Calista Cruise
This tour provided a wonderful experience from start to finish. The tour agent was exceptionally prompt in confirming my Klook booking and highly responsive to all my transportation inquiries. Our pickup from Hanoi was remarkably smooth and entirely without delay. Onboard, the cruise was fantastic, offering cozy accommodations and spectacular views. Exploring the various islands and caves was a definite highlight, and the good food served on the cruise further enhanced our enjoyment..
After booking Hermes, the agent informed us that it was fully booked and offered alternative options. We ultimately chose the Alisa cruise. We absolutely loved our experience aboard the Alisa, especially the knowledgeable and fluent English-speaking tour guide who ensured our safety throughout the trip. The itinerary was meticulously planned, allowing us to fully enjoy the activities while also providing ample time for rest and relaxation on the cruise. I highly recommend spending a night at Halong Bay instead of opting for just a day trip to fully appreciate the peaceful and breathtaking sea views.
Great food, great staff, transfer to the cruise was seamless, had a rest stop in between for toilet break. check in to the boat at around 12 and was served buffet lunch and welcome drink. Room was spacious with balcony and toilet was clean.
This Hermes Cruise completely fulfilled my dream. Halong Bay, a world heritage site, is picturesque. This ship has colonial-style, French-Vietnamese-style room decorations. Extra-large balconies and jacuzzis are standard features in every room! Including 4 meals and 1 Happy Hour snack, pick up and drop off from hotels in Hanoi, it only costs more than 6,000 yuan per person. The CP value is super high. The tour guide who landed on the island was also enthusiastic to help us take photos for free and was very good at greeting guests. This trip was a blast! (It is recommended that everyone spend the night in Halong Bay, Hermes Cruises is definitely the first choice)
1. Ordering process After successfully ordering the itinerary, the original reservation time was actually full?! However, Vivian from SST Travel contacted me quickly and the person who contacted me one day in advance had a very good attitude. 2. On-board experience (1) The pick-up and drop-off bus is very comfortable and high-end (2) The cruise itinerary is generally good. The butler on the ship has a good grasp of the time. The scenic spots on Hero Island are beautiful and the Surprise Cave is also very special. The scenery is worth visiting. The food on the ship is of average quality, and the drinks are for a fee, so you won’t be hungry at all! After dinner on the ship’s itinerary, you can experience small squid fishing, but most people go back to their rooms to rest, so the ship is relatively quiet at night. The boat has a party. If you like a more static style at night, you can choose this boat (3) The quality of the rooms can be seen that the boat is old. The wooden floor may be due to water. Some parts of the floor are a bit lifted and there is dust at the air-conditioning vent. Since this is my first time staying on a ship, I don’t know if all the hotels on the ship are like this. Overall, I think the price is very cost-effective!
