super worth the visit especially with kids, very nice restaurant in the museum and kids friendly, easy to use the tickets and the best part is the admission for Kids is free just need get the adult tickets.
Very relaxing experience. Each exhibition is on either side of the building and usually arranged in chronological order. Lots of stairs but there are elevators. The 360 Theater is fun and they provide a listening device for English translation. Wasn't too crowded when I went but it was still busy. Very nice break from the crowded tourist areas and you get to learn more about Japan outside of entertainment and pop culture.
Great place to visit overall. Part of my museum hopping in Ueno. Most of it is in Japanese but that's a given and can be translated easily through Google Lens. Don't forget to try their Theater360 show (w/ english translation).
For the price it’s pretty worth it to go, the museum offers many different historical and cultural exhibits to explore. Though, I spent only about half and hour there. Overall, if you like to visit museums this is worth the trip.
I didn't expect that I will like this so much, the theater show was superb, it was like you were walking also in the forest & the river! But photo taking inside the theater is not allowed, but can do on other areas, plenty of things displayed really luv it!
My son who is a Biochem major loved this museum. He personally liked the floor where they showcased all the Japanese nobel award recipients in the field of Chemistry and Physics. He was in awe of the advancement in technology and medicine in Japan. He would like to spend the whole day there but it was his birthday and we were to celebrate it in a restaurant nearby. Might come back later on and check out the other museums.
Ease of booking and entry to the museum. We really enjoyed our time here, the exhibits were so informative and interesting, most especially the dinosaurs! Was really impressed with Theater360 and we really appreciate that there was an audio translation device that was free of charge. Thanks so much!
All I had to do was show the QR code to the staff at the entrance gate. Extremely easy and simple. As for the museum itself, it was spectacular! There were so many interesting exhibits, and you can rent a headset that narrates the exhibits in English.
