Yuequ Space (Cantonese Art Studio)
- A public arts and cultural study space integrating intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, handicraft experiences, art training, small salon performances, cultural and creative retail, and cultural tourism consulting.
- Yongqing Fang is a benchmark project for the micro-renovation of Guangzhou's old city. It adopts the "restore the old as the old" model to revitalize Xiguan's old buildings, preserves the texture of the old city, and creates an intangible cultural heritage district.
What to expect
- Mother-of-pearl handicraft: Traditional Lingnan mother-of-pearl craftsmanship, making bracelets and jewelry, experiencing the complete process of shell grinding, inlaying, and sealing. It is a popular experience project in the space.
- Cantonese opera-themed pressed flower: Dried flower pressed craft, combining Cantonese opera elements to make decorative paintings and bookmarks.
- Diancui craft experience: Replicating the traditional Diancui technique to make traditional-style accessories.
- Bamboo-woven round fan, facial makeup DIY, drama fan making: Painting Cantonese opera facial masks and costume pattern round fans. You can learn about Cantonese opera facial masks and costume culture before starting to create.
- Other seasonal handicrafts: Kite painting, Guangzhou folklore-themed DIY, with courses updated according to the season.
