The Museum of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region

The Guangxi Museum, located on Minzu Avenue in Qingxiu District, Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, was founded in 1934. It is a provincial-level comprehensive museum of history and art, and also one of the first batch of national first-class museums in China. The museum currently houses nearly 100,000 pieces (sets) of collections, spanning from the Paleolithic Age to modern times, comprehensively witnessing the historical development and civilization evolution of Guangxi throughout various periods. It serves as an excellent window for visitors to gain a deep understanding of the past and present of the "Eight Guis" land.

The museum meticulously arranges several basic and special exhibitions, such as the "Exhibition of Ancient Guangxi Civilization" and "Glazed Splendor – Exhibition of Museum's Porcelain Collection." Among them, the most representative are the vast number of ancient bronze drums and various cultural relics with strong local ethnic characteristics, such as exquisite Zhuang brocades, delicate embroidered balls, and mysterious and grand replicas of Huashan rock paintings. These precious exhibits vividly narrate the wisdom of the ancient Luoyue people and fully demonstrate the rich and colorful folk customs of the various ethnic groups in Guangxi.

The architectural design of the museum is also unique. The main body consists of an exhibition building with distinctive characteristics of Zhuang stilt-style architecture and an outdoor cultural relics garden full of rich local flavor. After recent renovation and expansion, the newly launched museum not only incorporates modern intelligent technology experiences such as AR navigation but also adds immersive interactive areas like a historical mini-theater and a children's archaeological exploration museum, truly bringing the profound historical relics to life. It is an art palace that integrates cultural relic collection, historical popularization, and cultural leisure.
