Mt.Wuling Great Rift Valley

The Wulingshan Grand Canyon Scenic Area is located in Wulingshan Township, about 40 kilometers southeast of Fuling District, Chongqing City. It is a national 4A-level tourist attraction. The scenic area covers an area of 29.96 square kilometers, with an average altitude of 1,300 meters. The mountains are majestic and varied, with rich and diverse native vegetation, including more than 2,000 species of wild plants and more than 200 species of wild animals. The air is fresh and pleasant, and the ecological environment is excellent, with mountains, forests, springs, caves, waterfalls, cliffs, lakes, pools, canyons, pits, and fissures all present, making the tourism resources extremely rich. The Ten-Mile Grand Canyon is magnificent and beautiful, with strange rocks piled up at the bottom of the valley and gurgling streams; the natural cliffs are like the Great Wall, stretching for several miles; the ground fissures and underground rivers are magical and spectacular. The scenic area is famous for the ancient "scars" on the earth—the cliff fissures caused by intense crustal movement. The world's unique close-range reverse geological structure—Tianmen Qixian (Heavenly Gate Peril), shaped like a thin knife, with a thousand-meter-long continuous wall of bronze and iron, amazes geologists from all over the world.
