Reviews
We booked this food tour last minute, but happy we did! Our tour guide was Mac and he did a great job! He was friendly and spoke to our group to get to know us. The food spots he took us to were great! We had a few Bun Cha and Banh Mi's across Ha Noi and the (2) locations he took us to were the best! Lastly, he took us to the famous train street, where we got drinks and sat right beside the train! Thanks Mac!
Me and my husband joined this food walking tour around Old Quater, Flora was our guide, he is a funny guy, very fluent in English (with his British accent 😁)! We loved all the food, our fav were BUN Cha and Dry mix pho, the best! We had Bun Cha, Egg Cofee, 2 kinds of Pho (Roll and Dry), Banh My, and the last was dessert coconut ice cream with sticky rice! After that we went to the train street. Amazing experience!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This experience is a must, especially for anyone just arriving in Hanoi! It’s the perfect introduction to the local food culture and the dishes loved by the people here. We chose the option that included Train Street so we could explore it with a guide, but you can also choose just the food tour if you prefer. A big shoutout to our guide, Oliver — he made the tour truly unforgettable! He was very informative and helpful, always taking the time to explain each dish and share the story behind it. Thanks to him, we didn’t just eat the food, we understood it. Two thumbs up for Oliver and this amazing experience!
To say we enjoyed this tour would be an understatement. We originally booked the 2 PM tour, but arrived early and were kindly accommodated after just a 20-minute wait. We also underestimated Hanoi’s heat, but our guide, Lucy, kept us so engaged that we barely noticed. It felt less like a formal tour and more like exploring the city with a local friend. You could probably visit the same food spots on your own, but what made this experience worth every penny was Lucy. She shared the stories behind each dish, local traditions, and even taught us a few Vietnamese terms, making the experience far more meaningful. The food was fantastic, with generous portions and authentic local favorites we would never have found on our own. Out of everything we did during our 7-day Vietnam trip, this was one of our favorite experiences. What stayed with us most was not just the food but the warmth of the people, from Lucy to the vendors at each stop, and Dummy the cat. If you can, ask for Lucy!
Had such a great experience with the walking food tour! Chris was an amazing guide — very knowledgeable, friendly, and truly went beyond just showing us places to eat. He shared stories, local insights, and made the whole tour fun and memorable. Every stop was worth it. Highly recommended!
The food tour was fun and enlighting, Daniel was really knowledeable about everything in Hanoi, all of our questions was answered by him confidently. The food was good and we are so full! we will definitely come back. Thanks Daniel! 🫰🏻
We did the 4pm private walking food tour with train visit on our first day in Hanoi. Highly recommend this if it’s your first time in Hanoi like us. The tour was a really good introduction to authentic Vietnamese cuisine. To my surprise, I actually like every dish served. However, for me, the egg coffee is good to try once! Haha. We were also lucky cos we saw the train passed twice on both sides (left and right). It was a wonder experience. We asked our guide to leave us at the Hoan Kiem Lake as our last stop so we can explore and wander on our own. Overall, I’d highly recommend this tour for first timers! Bonus: Tour guide will help and teach you how to cross the busy streets of Hanoi.
Tim of Crossing Vietnam Tour was AWESOME! REQUEST for him if u can! I am the only one in the food tour at 6PM so I was fortunate to have a 1 on 1 w/ Tim. He was like Anthony Bourdain doing a food tour with me on the streets of Old Quarter! He's a supervisor and not into tour guiding but since it's was raining, tour guides cancelled on me so he did the f'kin tour himself! He was kind to let me ride his scooter to do the tour! Each local food I tried was curated by him - from the Banh Mi & dry Pho, steamed rice roll from the old lady, fish noodle soup at an alley, & desserts like avocado, durian and coconut ice cram w/ sticky rice, yogurt ice cream too & egg coffee! After the tour & to end the night, he even went out of his way to have beer w/ me at his favorite local pub along a curb! We had more crazy flavors - pig intestines, dried fish and so much more! The fresh Hanoi Draft Light Beer was also CRAZY PERFCT! We parted at around 2AM - it was INCREDIBLE! 100⭐️ RATING for TIM!
The tour guide Kiara was very lovely and explained every food dish in detail and coordinated the trip very nicely. really enjoyed the walking food tour.
The tour will definitely show you how Vietnamese people loves feeding tourist delicious food. Lana, our tour guide is professional and chill. She give facts about the food on each shop and even taught us some tips about where to go and buy some spices and ingredients. We even had the best seats on Train Street and major plus that we saw 2 trains in 20 minutes interval.
