One-day tour to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route from Kanazawa

First, I'd like to thank our tour guide, Ms. Anna, for leading us on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route tour on May 8th. From the moment we boarded the bus, she provided very detailed explanations and repeated them in both Chinese and English. It seemed like if there were Japanese participants, she might have even explained it in Japanese again. She was able to explain the origins of everything, from the history of Tateyama and its scenic spots to the herbs on the Chizushi bento box, which was truly impressive. Furthermore, during the tour, she would always be the first to arrive at the meeting point, holding her flag high, and would frequently offer helpful tips, such as information on limited-edition local products, seating areas, recommended seating positions on public transport, crowd control, and perfect timing. In short, she is a truly admirable person. Regarding the attractions, I honestly feel we were very lucky. I initially thought it would be a day ruined by heavy rain, as it was pouring heavily on the way to Tateyama Station... My heart sank at that moment. I thought, "How are we going to enjoy anything like this?" However, from Tateyama Station onwards, the rain stopped. Then, at Murodo, at a crucial moment, there was only fog and wind, but the visibility was still very good, making the experience uniquely enjoyable. The fog even created a snow-like, yet not quite snowy, atmosphere. Besides our own group, I saw many other tourists having a great time. Later, at Daikanbo, there was no rain or fog when we were at the observation deck or riding the ropeway. We were able to take in the entire panoramic view, which was truly breathtaking. Any photo taken there could easily be a postcard. At Kurobe Lake and Kurobe Dam, I had heard there would be significant rain, but by the time our group arrived at Kurobe Lake, the rain had stopped, and visibility was incredibly high. The unobstructed view of the dam was another kind of spectacular and magnificent sight. Was our group blessed with some special luck? Thank you to our tour guide and the hardworking driver. Watching him drive precisely and smoothly on the dark, winding roads on the way back showed his extensive experience. Most of the tourists, including myself, slept soundly. Thank you to all the staff for providing us with such a wonderful experience on this one-day tour! I would definitely recommend this to friends who aspire to travel independently but also want an easy way to experience the Kurobe Tateyama Alpine Route.

Although the itinerary was packed and we were constantly switching between different modes of transportation, Vivian and all the tour members managed their time exceptionally well. No one was ever late for any leg of the journey. Vivian was also very clear about meeting points and times, and she paid special attention to the elderly members who needed extra care. Besides the snow walls, the mountain and tree scenery along the way up Tateyama Kurobe was beautiful. The weather was particularly good on the day we visited, and we saw everything we hoped to, except for a rainbow over the waterfall. It was a very fortunate, relaxing, and enjoyable trip.

Our guide Vivian from LIONS was excellent in her service throughout the tour. Her language skills in both English and Mandarin were very good, which made communication easy and comfortable for everyone. She was highly skilled in managing the tour group and customers professionally. The entire tour was well organised, punctual, and smooth from start to end. Most importantly, everyone returned safely and felt at ease throughout the journey. We truly appreciate her dedication and excellent service.

The itinerary involved seven different modes of transportation, making the connections quite complex. Fortunately, the travel agency had made all reservations in advance, so there was no unnecessary waiting or delays, which was very reassuring. Our guide, Mr. Hou, was extremely professional and provided attentive service. He fluently explained everything in Chinese, English, and Japanese throughout the trip and maintained excellent communication with the staff at each transportation facility, instilling complete confidence in the travelers. It's a shame the weather wasn't good, preventing us from fully appreciating the beautiful scenery of Tateyama Kurobe.

Extremely satisfied! Although the schedule was tight due to needing to switch between multiple modes of transportation, I highly recommend joining a tour group to avoid the hassle of buying tickets and booking travel times. Most importantly, it was truly beautiful!

Our guide, Colin is very patient and helpful. He explained the situation calmly as there was a delay to enter the mountains due to bad weather the night before. We felt safe and well taken care of by the guide and the driver. Transition to different modes of transport was smooth and seamless. We got to enjoy ourselves at the different stations. I highly recommend this activity to anyone who wants to visit the Tateyama snow walls.

The itinerary was quite packed, from Tateyama to Ogizawa Station on the other side. We had a longer stop at Murodo, but other places were brief. Thankfully, our dedicated and responsible tour guide, Ms. Wang Yuti, worked hard to ensure everyone could experience as much as possible while staying on schedule. We are very grateful to her.

The itinerary for the attractions was good, but the departure time changed multiple times, from 7 AM to 9 AM, and finally, we didn't leave until 10:30 AM. The return trip from Ogizawa at 6 PM to Kanazawa at 9:30 PM was a bit too late.
