Lord of the Rings Safari - Queenstown Half Day Tour

What a great tour! We are so pleased we booked this trip to see some beautiful scenes near Queenstown. the drive across the river was a highlight and the views from Skippers Canyon were amazing! The guides were so knowledgeable and very skilful drivers. so happy we booked this tour for a fun filled half day out.

my guide Roger was AMAZING. He actually worked on the LOTR films and show so it was so freaking cool to get stories from him you wouldn’t get anywhere else!!! The views were also incredible. He made sure we switched up seats throughout so everyone got different views. thought the gold mining took a bit longer than I would’ve liked but it’s just my preference. Loved the tea and treats he provided too

Kenny our guide was absolutely amazing and funny. The spots he brought us to were amazing and he took really nice photos on our phones as well. Had such a fun time with the gold panning and the banana cake was gold (no pun intended). Everyone in my group loved the tour, would recommend it to anyone who is thinking of doing it!

Dan was truly the best guide. He provided an enchanting four hours and gifted me the best time I've had during my experiences in Queenstown. I look forward to seeing you again! Wishing you happy holidays!

Stunning day out FWDing! Driving through the Arrow River was an incredible experience, and really made the trip special. Loved the LOTR references, but also loved that we stopped for some non-LOTR gold panning ... This was unexpected but lovely. The guides were knowledgeable about the landscape, had interesting personal stories about encounters with LOTR crew while filming, and also the richer histories of the towns we visited.

The point-to-point pick-up was on time, the tour guide was friendly and helpful, explained the history of each attraction, introduced the places to explore in the city, and helped point out directions. It was worth the price.

All the places are beautiful! Our tour guide Peter was wonderful! He is knowledgeable and shared lotr information at each point of interest. Highly recommended!

The tour takes you to iconic filming locations from The Lord of the Rings, with stunning views around the Wakatipu Basin and Arrow River. The 4WD adventure was a highlight—especially the river crossings and driving through rugged terrain. We also got to try gold panning, which was a nice bonus.  Our guide was super knowledgeable and made the experience even better with behind-the-scenes stories and fun facts about the films.  Highly recommend if you’re visiting Queenstown—whether you’re a LOTR fan or just want a unique and scenic adventure!
