Iceland Fagradalsfjall Volcano Hiking Day Tour (English Guided)

After picking up people from the Reykjavik city area, we will drive out of the capital area and head to our destination along the lunar-like landscape of the Reykjanes Peninsula. At Seltún (this stop may be skipped depending on the time of the volcanic hike), you can see the effects of geothermal water on the environment. Stroll along the boardwalk, passing boiling and hissing mud pools and natural hot water flowing through colorful land and rocks. The air is filled with the smell of sulfur, which is emitted from the hot springs. The underground hot water dissolves sulfur minerals in rocks and soil, resulting in this unique odor. Two viewing platforms overlook the entire area, allowing you to enjoy 360-degree panoramic views. We will begin hiking through the lava field remains after the 2021 Fagradalsfjall volcanic eruption. The first part of the hiking route is relatively steep, followed by several kilometers of flat terrain. The final part is moss-covered and rugged, requiring careful walking and is more difficult. The total hiking time is approximately 2 hours, but may vary depending on the route of the day. We get as close as possible to the most recent volcano, and the distance depends on many factors, including weather conditions. After a day of hiking and exploring, we will return to Reykjavik to end this beautiful journey.
