Reviews
It was such a great experience! The weather was perfect so we were able to take lots of nice photos in all the locations. It was also not so crowded so we had so much time to explore and enjoy the views in each location. Our English speaking tour guide was very friendly and she shared a lot of interesting information about Mt. Fuji and the other things we see along the way. Although I wished I have seen more and visited more places in Hakone, I would say doing a bus tour is way more comfortable and convenient than going through public transportation. Overall, it was the best way for me to spend my day off as I went home with nothing but beautiful photos, tasty souvenir snacks, and beautiful memories of Mt. Fuji.
I had a wonderful experience on this bus tour! Our guide was very knowledgeable and considerate — thanks to his detailed explanations, I was able to learn about Japanese mythology and history along the way. In such a short time, I gained a deep understanding of Hakone, which made the journey much more meaningful. At Ōishi Park, he even prepared a hand-made map and showed us the features of each shop. It saved us a lot of time choosing where to go and helped us enjoy a truly satisfying trip. The bus was smooth and always on time, and the driver’s safe and polite driving made everyone feel very comfortable and relaxed. Although it rained a little today, the itinerary was still full and enjoyable. Seeing the city and mountains surrounded by hot springs felt like stepping into a mythical world — an absolutely breathtaking view (even if some of it might have just been mist!).
The Mt. Fuji & Hakone day trip is well-organized, fulfilling, and comfortable! I departed from Hakone Yumoto Station at 8 AM sharp. The bus was clean and spacious, and the tour guide provided detailed and humorous explanations. The tour guide was Japanese, fluent in both English and Chinese. Along the way, I was able to enjoy the rural scenery, making the three-hour drive far from boring. First stop: Fujiyama Tower I did some research and found that on a clear day, you can see the entire view of Mt. Fuji from the observation deck. Mt. Fuji under the blue sky and white clouds is truly stunning! The sunflower field at the foot of the tower is also perfect for taking pictures. On the day I visited, it was cloudy and rainy, so I couldn't see Mt. Fuji, but they arranged for us to experience the "Fuji Airways" flight simulator, allowing us to see Mt. Fuji from the air, which made up for the disappointment of not being able to see Mt. Fuji that day. Very thoughtful. Second stop: Oishi Park (Lake Kawaguchiko) The park has beautiful scenery, and you can stroll and enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji reflected on the lake. Seasonal flowers are in full bloom, making it a great place for taking photos. There are also many small cafes nearby where you can relax and have a drink. We chose a pizza place at a higher elevation. The prices were reasonable, and the food was delicious. There are many restaurants nearby, which is very convenient. Third stop: Lake Ashi Cruise Enjoy the scenery of the lake and mountains, with a particularly comfortable breeze. The tour guide also explained the history of Lake Ashi, which made me understand the area better. Overall, this trip is well-paced without being tiring. The tour guide is professional, manages the time well, and allows you to fully enjoy the beautiful scenery of Mt. Fuji from different angles at each stop. Highly recommended for those visiting Japan for the first time who want to see Mt. Fuji and Hakone in one day! Also, the meeting point is definitely at the hotel at the end of the bridge on the left-hand exit from Hakone Yumoto Station. The hotel entrance is on the small road on the left or find the elevator to go up. If it's your first time, allow enough time to find the location. The bus departs at 8 AM sharp. What's most commendable is that they adjust their plans according to customer needs and don't force you to follow their plans. The whole process is not rushed, and it's relaxing and enjoyable. There was also a lot of interaction with the staff. It was a very memorable experience.
It was a great experience overall. The bus was clean and comfortable, and our guide was very knowledgeable about Hakone and Kawaguchiko. We visited many beautiful places such as Fujiyama tower, Fuji-Q, Oishi park and Kojiri port and the schedule was well-organized. I especially loved the view of Mt.Fuji from Oishi park! The only downside was that I couldn't see the top of the Mt.Fuji because of the clouds, but everything else was wonderful. I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hakone and Kawaguchiko for the first time.
The tour guide (English-speaking) was very dedicated in their explanations and even used their own pictures to make the presentation more engaging. They also made sure we could capture beautiful views of Mount Fuji from the window! The tour departs directly from Hakone-Yumoto, so exploring Hakone-Yumoto the day before is a great way to avoid feeling rushed. We stopped at Fuji-Q Highland, but the stop was a bit short – just enough time to take some photos from the tower. Unfortunately, it was a bit cloudy, but I imagine it would be the best viewpoint on a clear day! In the afternoon, we visited Lake Kawaguchi. There weren't many flowers in bloom in the fall, but the scenery was still quite beautiful! The tour guide recommended walking paths and local cuisine, taking care of all aspects of our experience. I saw buses here, but it felt much more convenient to travel by car. It eliminated any stress getting from point to point, allowing us to leisurely enjoy the Mount Fuji area!
The meeting point in front of the entrance of Fujiya Hotel was easily accessible. The tour bus was large, even though there were only a handful of us. It was not a tiny car (as mentioned when booking), even though the tour group was small. We first went to a spot where we could see Mount Fuji with the crater on its side, but unfortunately, the weather was so foggy that we couldn’t see Fujisan at all. We didn’t choose to go to Fujiyama Tower because of the bad weather and went to Fuji Airways Scenic Experience instead. It was a pretty cool and fun experience. We then went to Oishi Park to see Mount Fuji, have lunch, and relax. Unfortunately, the weather didn’t give us a chance to see even a glimpse of Fujisan. The oden at the café was quite good, and there were many souvenirs to choose from in the shops. We then went to Lake Ashi Kojiro Port, took pictures, and strolled around the lake while having a snack from the konbini truck parked there. We went back to Hakone-Yumoto after that.
It's really difficult to access Kawaguchiko from Hakone, so this tour is perfect to enjoy both locations. That day, unfortunately it was cloudy so we couldn't see Mount Fuji much, but we could enjoy a ride in Fuji Q Highlands instead to virtually enjoy Mount Fuji! If the weather is nice you can enjoy a vue point at the top of a tower. Oishi Park was really nice to visit with all the flowers and small shops. There were a lot of really cute restaurants. We saw a glimpse of Mount Fuji from the bus at the end of the tour! The English guide gives a lot of info about Hakone, Mount Fuji and other anecdotes. So I recommend this tour, but if you can check the weather forecast before!
I recently participated in a bus tour from Hakone to Yamanashi. The tour guide was wonderful – very fluent in English, knowledgeable, and humorous. The tour started with a distant view of Mount Fuji from Fuji-Q Highland, followed by a visit to Lake Kawaguchi, and finally a short walk around Hakone Yumoto. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to efficiently visit various places in one day.
This itinerary is perfect for those who want to visit both Hakone and Lake Kawaguchi. Due to scheduling constraints, I chose a day trip from Hakone, and Klook offered flexible cancellation policies, allowing me to adjust my plans based on the weather. I was lucky enough to see Mount Fuji!
I'm very happy to have joined this tour. It's a real shame that we couldn't see Mount Fuji due to the bad weather, but I'm glad we got to enjoy the Fuji-Q rides as an alternative and had a new experience. During the ride, the guide shared interesting stories about Hakone’s history, which I really appreciated. At Oishi Park, the guide also introduced us to local specialties, and I enjoyed the delicious hōtō — a famous dish from Yamanashi Prefecture. When we stopped at Lake Kawaguchi, we also learned about the history of the sightseeing boats, which was fascinating. I think we could have enjoyed it even more if the weather had been better, but you can’t control nature! Since it’s usually difficult to travel directly from Hakone to Lake Kawaguchi, I think this tour’s itinerary was very well planned. I hope I can combine this area with other travel destinations next time!
