Take a local bus and spend a day touring the main tourist attractions of Aso. The means of transport were not clearly indicated and I had to spend a lot of time to research them myself. Even the bus driver was not very clear about the ticket and I ended up paying too much. Fortunately, the Japanese are very polite and willing to help solve the problem. The journey from Mount Aso back to Kumamoto takes three hours and there is no rest stop to go to the toilet. All we do along the way is sell transportation tickets. You have more free time when you take the bus yourself.
