Welcome to the Beppu & Hells Hot Springs Day Tour from Fukuoka! We will take you to the Miyazaki Hayao-themed town of Yufuin, where you’ll have 2.5 hours of fun, visit the childlike Ryoanji Temple, and enjoy a free experience at Beppu’s most distinctive Hells Hot Springs (tickets included).
The Wind Chime Festival at Ryoanji Temple is one of Fukuoka’s most elegant and refreshing popular events in summer. It cleverly combines traditional Japanese culture, summer traditions, and the serene atmosphere of a temple, bringing both visual and auditory enjoyment to the hot summer days. The main activity is to stroll leisurely through the temple, listen to the chorus of wind chimes, admire the beautiful scenery where wind chimes intertwine with ancient temples and nature, and experience that unique sense of coolness and Zen. Wind chimes by the stream and along the bamboo forest path are especially popular. As the breeze blows, thousands of wind chimes emit crisp, pleasant, and continuous “ding-dong” sounds. This sound is regarded by Japanese people as the “sound of summer,” instantly making one forget the heat and bringing peace and coolness to the soul.
Beppu is the "Earth's Breath" – a stunning hellish spectacle intertwined with urban vitality; Yufuin is a "Fairy Tale in the Mountains" – a healing place where art and nature coexist. The combination of the two is the essence of Kyushu's hot spring travel: half fire, half poetry.
Yufuin Floral Village: An English-style town recreating the scenery of the Cotswolds in the UK, inspired by the filming location of "Harry Potter." It gathers fairy tale-themed shops like "Alice in Wonderland" and "Peter Rabbit," as well as interactive experiences such as the Owl Forest.

The tour went well and the tour guide was great and communicated clearly. It's more convenient to have bus transpo when travelling to Beppu and Yufuin in Oita from Fukuoka. The pace was also ok, but it was a bit sad that we had to skip Mt. Yufu simply because the bus had nowhere to park in the area.
We had a lovely time during the entire tour. We had enough time at every stop for us to enjoy. The itinerary was well organized. We were never rushed. We had Matthew with us as our tour guide and he was really great in giving us informations regarding the scenic areas that we went to. We really appreciated his calm demeanor throughout the trip and his food recommendations. He sent us links and locations for us to easier navigate them. He was responsive to all our inquiries and always emphasized safety and to contact him should we have any concerns. All in all we had a wonderful experience.
this was great tour. I think we had enough time for each item in the itinerary. Considering how far Oita is far Halata Station, I think it was well planned so we can be home for dinner. Our tour guide Jiang Jing was excellent in providing information about these tourist spots and speaks both Chinese and English really well. Unfortunately, our tour bus broke down going home, but a replacement bus came 1 hour and 20 mins later. I have no complaints about that bus malfunction. No one expected that to happen. We were still able to be back to Hakata before 8:30pm. Kudos to Jiang Jing for being on top of everything. Excellent work!!
The weather was great today, and I had a wonderful time on the tour led by Daisy! Daisy is truly an excellent tour guide. From the Frog Shrine to Yufuin's Lake Kinrin and Beppu's Hells of Beppu hot springs, she introduced every attraction very clearly and vividly. What's most commendable is that before we left, Daisy enthusiastically recommended many local Fukuoka eateries, including several must-try ramen shops, Hakata mentaiko (spicy cod roe), and dessert places. We were all salivating and are already planning to go back and try them! Thank you, Daisy, for making our Kyushu day trip so fulfilling and memorable! If you're visiting Fukuoka or Kyushu, I highly recommend Daisy as your tour guide. Five out of five stars! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The tour was well-planned, and we had enough time at each stop to really explore. Jimmy was the perfect tour guide. He was very attentive and funny, and he shared a lot of background information and stories about each location. I especially enjoyed the Frog Temple and Ghibli Village.

awesome guide, Chao. Some locations had quite short stop durations, so there wasn’t a lot of time to slowly explore or shop. But overall, the itinerary was well planned and covered many unique spots in one day. From frog temples to steaming hot springs and Yufuin’s cute little streets, every stop felt different and memorable. The journey itself was comfortable and the scenery along the way was beautiful too. If you’re looking for a relaxing and easy way to explore multiple places in a day, I’d still recommend this tour. 😊

- During peak travel periods on weekends and holidays in Japan (especially around the Obon Festival from August 13th to 16th), traffic jams are common, and some attractions may close early. The itinerary may be adjusted or shortened based on actual conditions. - Vehicle type: Vehicles are dispatched according to the number of people. For small groups, a driver who also serves as an attendant will provide full tour service, without an additional tour leader. Please be aware.
- Weather conditions may affect the best viewing period for flowers or autumn leaves. The itinerary will not be canceled or refunded for this reason. Please be aware.
- Due to large crowds during the flower season/autumn foliage season, there may be severe traffic jams. It is recommended to bring light meals.
- The flowering period or autumn foliage period may vary slightly due to weather conditions. After the tour is formed, it will proceed as usual regardless of the flowering/autumn foliage situation. Please be aware.
