What to expect
【Katsuoji Temple】 I made a special trip to Katsuoji Temple early in the morning to avoid the crowds. You can come here to feel full of positive energy, enjoy the small Daruma dolls exclusively, and every photo is beautiful! 【Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine】 Located in Kyoto, Japan, it is a famous shrine that enjoys a high reputation not only in Japan but also internationally, especially known for its thousands of vermilion torii gates, which wind their way up the mountain path, forming a spectacular “Senbon Torii” (Thousand Torii Gates). 【Arashiyama - Togetsukyo Bridge, Small Bamboo Grove, Arashiyama Scenic Railway】 The Arashiyama area is composed of two regions: Arashiyama and Sagano. This area not only has rich cultural attractions but also natural scenery that changes with the seasons and a retro scenic railway. Many ancient temples and shrines are concentrated here, and Tenryu-ji Temple is a World Heritage site. The famous bamboo path is located between Nonomiya Shrine and Okochi Sanso. As a sacred place for cherry blossom and autumn foliage viewing, you can also rent kimonos and rickshaws, making it a very suitable place to slow down and relax.

Reviews
We joined the Klook Kyoto Day Tour and it was an amazing experience from start to finish! The itinerary covered Katsuoji Temple, Arashiyama, Bamboo Grove, and Fushimi Inari Shrine, giving us a perfect mix of culture, scenery, and relaxation. Katsuoji Temple was peaceful and filled with colorful daruma dolls that symbolize perseverance and luck — truly a hidden gem. In Arashiyama, we enjoyed the beautiful mountain and riverside views while trying local snacks and browsing small shops. The Bamboo Grove was simply magical, a calm and dreamy walk surrounded by tall bamboo stalks. We ended the day at Fushimi Inari Shrine, where the endless red torii gates were just breathtaking in person. we especially loved our tour guide Apple, who was super friendly, and made the whole trip easy for everyone. Highly recommend booking this Kyoto tour via Klook if you want a convenient, enjoyable, and truly memorable way to explore Kyoto’s highlights in one day!
For our 7-day family trip to Kansai, we decided to book a Klook one-day tour. Our guide, Velben, was very friendly. Although the website stated an 8 AM departure, some group members were 10 minutes late, and the guide waited for them before setting off (honestly, they didn't have to wait 😅). The driver was very steady, and we arrived at each destination on time. All three attractions were beautiful, especially Katsuo-ji Temple with its cherry blossoms in full bloom! However, if you want to take your time with photos or explore in depth, the time might be insufficient, especially at the last stop, Fushimi Inari Shrine. The bus stop was quite a distance from the shrine, and the crowds that day made it difficult to move, so just walking back and forth took at least half an hour. This meant we could only quickly snap some photos and leave, which was a bit of a shame. Also, a special note: although this day trip's title mentions the Arashiyama Scenic Railway, the price does not include the train ticket. If you wish to ride it, you'll need to purchase tickets separately. You'll also need to try to buy tickets on the day they go on sale, about a month in advance, as they sell out very quickly, especially during popular times like cherry blossom season! For the train schedule, I recommend choosing the 1:05 PM departure to Kameoka, as it allows for more ample time. I don't recommend the 12:05 PM train because the bus arrives there at 11:40 AM at the earliest, and you'll have to navigate through the crowded Bamboo Grove, making it highly likely you'll miss the train. This is for anyone who might find it helpful!
This attraction is perfect for those who don't want to navigate on their own. For a small fee, you get a full-day tour, saving you a lot of time on transportation and transfers. The scenery at the attractions is beautiful, and the time spent at each stop is just right, not too short. I recommend this to anyone who wants to visit popular spots but prefers a hassle-free experience.
This was such an amazing tour! The three stops are worth visiting, and you get a good amount of time at each place. I especially appreciated our tour guide Akira! He did a great job communicating in Chinese and English, and he let us choose what to do at each place while also giving recommendations for those who wanted it. I definitely would recommend~
Our tour guide, Akira, was very young, professional, and provided clear explanations. He was also very friendly. I highly recommend this tour to Katsuoji Temple; it's convenient, saves time, and is affordable. The buy-one-get-one-free offer for three attractions is an excellent value. Highly recommended.
This was a very enjoyable trip to Japan, even though it was only for a short day. The itinerary was well-planned, and the sights were incredibly beautiful. Our tour guide, Eric, explained everything in great detail, spoke very politely and gently, and was extremely patient. The driver was also very cooperative (even though it was Japan's Golden Week and traffic was terrible). I will definitely join again next time I visit Japan and will recommend it to my friends and family 👍
Eric is a super great guide! First, he manages time very well. Departing from Osaka, he completed the tour of Katsuoji Temple, Arashiyama, and Fushimi Inari Shrine in one limited day. It was very efficient but not rushed, leaving one or two hours for everyone to fully explore each place. Second, he provides professional introductions. Before arriving at each attraction, he would explain the history of the attraction and the tour route for everyone. Finally, his thoughtfulness is reflected in the details. When getting on the bus in the morning, he told everyone that he had prepared sunscreen and motion sickness medicine. When it rained unexpectedly, he also prepared tissues for everyone after getting on the bus. Overall, this day's tour was very enjoyable. Five-star praise for Eric!
Our tour guide today was Apple, and the bus transportation saved us a lot of travel time. Both the guide and the driver were excellent. Upon arriving at each attraction, the guide provided a brief explanation and suggested routes, allowing us to explore at our own pace, as long as we adhered to the meeting times. Plus, we could relax on the bus without worrying about missing our stop. Visiting Katsuo-ji Temple in the morning was very pleasant, not too crowded, and they even had fun stamp postcards. Due to time constraints, we couldn't fully experience Arashiyama and Fushimi Inari in the afternoon, but we still saw the highlights. Overall, it was a very enjoyable travel experience!
our tour guide CC was superb! I was the only english speaking participant in our group, the rest were Chinese and she never made me feel left out. she would give a history and some quick guides to the group first and then would check with me after separately! it was rainy on that day but still managed to go through the itinerary. we had enough time to go around each place and the pickup and drop off place is very convenient especially if you are staying at the dotonbori area. would recommend especially for solo travellers to save time getting lost and to know a bit of history to the places as well :)
It was a great tour, covering three major attractions all in one day, despite their somewhat tricky locations. Katsuoji in particular, is not the easiest to reach, but it's definitely worth the visit. Lots and lots of Daruma!
