Authentic Kyoto Gion Tour with Traditional Cuisine and Maiko Show

We had a tiring but wonderful time on this walking tour around the Gion area. There were only the 2 of us in this group (probably because it was a new activity recently put up on Klook), so we had our guide, Tomoko-san's attention solely on us. Tomoko-san was very professional and answered every question we had. The activity ended with a very delicious full-course kaiseki dinner at a quaint traditional looking restaurant around the Pontocho area. Each dish was specially curated to offer subtly different tastes and texture of Kyoto cuisine, with use of wild vegetables, seafood and bean-based/ glutinous rice flour based delicacies. Our maiko came into the tatami dining room to chat with us, including a Q&A session. We had a photo session with her, following which we were entertained by our maiko dancing to the accompaniment of tradional music. Everyone was friendly and wonderful, from our guide, Tomoko-san to the waiter who serve us and the maiko. Overall, it was a very good experience which we would definitely recommend to anyone who would like to experience the sights, culture and food of Kyoto in a single activity.
