I personally feel that the food served was not worth the money paid. The only expensive food item was the Buddha Jump Over the Wall. The flavour was also off as I could only taste ginger which was added to mask the fishy smell from the seafood. But it killed the umaemi flavour of the seafood. well, just for the performance and experience. plus they don't clear the empty plates from the table.
This time, I decided to experience it after the May 1st holiday, thinking there wouldn't be as many people. The costumes were pretty good; I wore a Jinyiwei (Imperial Guard) outfit. Before the imperial banquet, there were mini-games, basically divided into gambling games and guessing games, all played with "silver taels." I thought it was decent, and you could exchange the silver taels for small gifts at the end. Once it was time, the imperial banquet began. The performances were generally good. As for the food, there were some hits and misses. Overall, it's worth experiencing, though perhaps because there were fewer people, the staff sometimes seemed a bit out of character.
We had a memorable lunch at Hongmen Yuyan! It is located in the Chinese Baroque Street and is a short walk away from Chinese-baroque Block Metro Station (Line 3). We opted for the VIP Lunch (without cosplay) and were assigned seats in the middle of the aisle. The pre-lunch games and NPC-interactions were fun and entertaining, though you'd need to have a good command of Mandarin to understand them. The performances were eye-catching and the choreography was well planned. The food is acceptable and the sweet items were more delicous than the savoury items - do note that the food served will not necessarily match the Klook menu so one should be mindful about any religous food restrictions/allergens. I appreciate that a short birthday segment was arranged for my father at a very short notice - I informed one of the female staff only upon arrival since I booked through Klook and did not know how to contact the restaurant directly. Overall, the experience is value-for-money and recommended!!
Interesting concept with traditional street games and the imperial banquet is great, dining with the emperor and empress. it is indeed a royal banquet.
highly recommended immersive experience. performances were professional. food was awesome. all in all fun time and super duper awesome value for money!
The experience was amazing. The food is good as well. You can interact with the NPCs before the show starts.
I uploaded the first photo to make it easier to find! If you arrive with plenty of time, you can participate in the various games prepared indoors. During the meal, several performers will perform with various costumes and dances, and you can also taste a variety of foods. It's great timewise as you can enjoy traditional Chinese performances and food at the same time.
Amazing performance and plenty of food! The show was so captivating we hardly had time to finish before the next course was served! Highly recommended and worth getting the VIP tickets for front row view.
