Heli Hike on Franz Josef Glacier

It was a great experience. We went in mid-June. The weather was very good that day. The glacier staff provided us with plenty of tools, ie crampons, socks, hiking shoes, spikes, glacier sticks, waterproof jackets, waterproof Pants, etc., they will provide enough clothes, but it is worth reminding that you can’t bring your own backpack, you have to put things in the small side backpack they provide. If you have a camera, you can hang it around your neck. After wearing the equipment Then if you walk in the correct way according to the guide, the road will not be too slippery and you can take beautiful photos all the way! Whether it is the provision of equipment, the professionalism of the tour guide, or the experience of the helicopter, I give full marks! One of the list of things worth doing in life, glaciers will only become less and less... now is the most beautiful time to see it!

A must-do in South NZ!! It was the highlight of our trip! Glad to see beautiful sceneries on the helicopter and an interesting hiking adventure on the glacier. Guides were good & ensured our safety.

Mind-Blowing is one word to describe this experience. This was just out of the world, I totally loved this activity. The way the whole activity was organized very professionally, right from the briefing to the end everything went smoothly. Tom was our guide and he was highly skilled. Andy was our helicopter pilot and he flew really well. I felt totally safe and confident to do this activity with Franz Josef Glacier Guides. This is a once in a lifetime activity and I highly recommend this. Don't miss this if you're in Franz Josef.

The weather was absolutely perfect on the day of departure, and we were assigned front-row seats on the helicopter, which offered fantastic views. Our guide led us through ice crevices and into ice caves for photos. Although the journey wasn't long, the glaciers we saw along the way were all incredibly beautiful.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, our booking was canceled and we were offered a postponement. Despite rescheduling, the weather remained unfavorable. We tried to rebook for another day, but we had to decline their offer as we were leaving. We are currently awaiting a refund and look forward to the opportunity to try again in the future!
