In addition to the original paintings of Maruko-chan that have accompanied us since childhood, the Sakurako exhibition also includes the lovely COJICOJI and the author's essays, funny short stories, and precious original paintings of picture books created with her son. There are not many places in the exhibition where you can take pictures, but you can slowly read the comics. It will be easier to appreciate the fun if you can read Japanese. After the visit, I felt that I had a deeper understanding of Teacher Sakurako and was very satisfied.
My hubby loves Chibi Maruko Chan so this was his birthday surprise. Initially, I was browsing the official website for booking but everything is in Japanese language (tried google translate the page) then found that the tickets are also available via klook which is a relief for me. As highlighted, all the exhibits are in Japanese only and no photographs allowed except for 2 spots which are clearly marked. We enjoyed the small merchandise fair at the end as well as the themed cafe (public area).
Worth going if you are a fan and know how to read Japanese. I do not understand Japanese so I can only look at the pictures. Can't take the phone out to use google translate because the staff will think that you are taking photos and taking photos are not allowed in most of the sections.
great experience, however you will need to scan using a translation app if you can not read Japanese. only scan, you can take pictures in only certain sections.
nice exhibition but most of the areas did not allow photos. everything was in Japanese so couldn’t understand a thing
The Chibi Maruko-chan exhibition that I've been looking forward to, the electronic order from Klook is super convenient, just scan the QR code and take the elevator upstairs to visit the museum
The Sakurako Art Exhibition is well worth a visit. It displays the author’s paintings from different periods. Friends who like Maruko-chan must go when they come to Tokyo!
It was nice to meet the beloved characters of Japan's national cartoonist. It was nice to see Joji-san as well as Maruko and his handwritten manuscript.
