Kyoto Gion Kimono Rental Experience (Provided by Rental Kimono First, Kyoto)

I wore a light-colored kimono before, so this time I wanted to try a furisode. I originally planned to choose a dark color like black or red, and luckily they had this red one that looked pretty good 👍 (Though there are more beautiful options if you upgrade, the staff didn't push it at all, I just saw them myself~ but budget was a consideration 😆). Although I later noticed something was off with the right sleeve, the Japanese stylists were very attentive while dressing me, and the overall photos turned out beautiful. But be prepared, wearing a furisode in the summer is super hot, I was soaked underneath when I took it off 😆. But seeing the beautiful photos makes it all worth it, and the fact that you can return it at a different location is super convenient, no need to go back to the original store.

We got the kimono special, we were limited to a few kimonos only for the special, understandable, there were still cute ones to choose from. everyone was nice and helpful.

Easy to locate with prominent shop front. Premises are very clean with Very attentive and friendly service staff. Creative in hairstyling! overall it was a very pleasant and satisfying experience! will definitely recommend this to my friends.

I had a great experience using this service. The service was top-notch; they were really polite, hospitable, and accommodating to our needs. I suggest upgrading the kimono to a komon or furisode. I strongly recommend the furisode—it’s stunning! The long sleeves are really beautiful, and the patterns are much better. All the preparation took around 45 minutes to 1 hour (I also had my hair done), and we were able to stroll around before returning by 6 PM at the latest. It was a memorable experience for us

The place is neat and service was great. Would certainly rent from here again. Topped up 2000 yen to upgrade the package to select other kimono.

Got a little lost as trying to locate. Exit 6 & climb up stairs, right beside is a nice theatre. turn right & walk down the lane for a few minutes & will see nice Zen looking place with a Peach coloured kimono standing outside the boutique. Please book pre Make up & photography if required since artists are not readily available. We booked via WeChat. Kimono needs to be worn tight so do be on time & push on so that the stash don’t loose while walking. Make up artists were good, photographer Dong was great as well. Definitley one of the best looking shops around I have seen. Thanks.

The clothes and accessories in the store are all very new and look very high-quality. It is really worth it to have such professional service at the price of 600 units. It is also very recommended. There are Kenninji Temple, Gion, and Hanamikoji all next to it, so you can take pictures. , you must choose this one, praise it

The service lady is polite and patient. There are many kinds of hairstyles to choose from. It also clearly indicates whether there will be a price increase. You can choose the hairstyle that suits you.

My sister and I really happy with this rental place.They really professional, the place is clean and cozy. While we are walking around kiyomizu I’m comparing our Kimono with other people - I’m really happy because my kimono has more layers and they create beautiful bow at the back. I’m definitely will recommend this place.

So worth the money!! The staff were more fluent in chinese but can also communicate in english. They dressed you gently and are pretty nice! There were lots of yukatas/kimonos to choose from but the fancier ones will be more expensive up to you if you want that. I just paid additional 1000yen for hair styling and it was good! Lots to choose from. I highly recommend this!!
