Reviews
Megumi-san and all her colleagues were thorough with the Fujisan hike. It wasn't easy but it was extremely rewarding experience. We met at the Love Sculpture area in Shinjuku which was a little confusing because there are also other companies. But once I met Megumi-san holding the Willer company sign and got on the right bus, everything else was ok. There was traffic because of the accidents on the road which delayed our schedule but that's something out of the tour company's control so I have no problem with that. The communication throughout the tour was very clear with all the details so I appreciated that. If you are climbing Fujisan for the first time and don't know anyone who has done it before, I'd highly recommend this option. You could not research all the things they know in a short time span. Sure you can ask AI and roll with it but I prefer your guides.
I had the most amazing time hiking Mount Fuji ! (Eventhough it was the hardest thing I ever did in my 35 years old of living. Firstly, our guides, Ms Sayaka, Mr Billie and Mr Tada were great communicators, experienced guide, knowledgable and extremely caring. They communicated clearly before we started our hike, gave us plenty of tips on how to reserve our energy and gave endless encouragment. During the hike, they were very diligent in keeping the group together, making sure we are safe and showered us with positivity eventhough it was a very tough (murderous) hike. For example, Mr Tada and Mr Billie gave us a safety briefing before we start and he managed to break the ice and made us feel confident in him and the guides. They were very experienced and extremely capable guides hence I feel very safe in their care. Special thanks to Ms Sayaka for her endless encouragement. She helped me pushed through the hike. Lastly, the gears provided were sturdy, reliable and of amazing quality.
This was my first time climbing. Whenever I felt uneasy, I received incredible support from the guide. They truly provided amazing guidance. I am grateful that I chose them on the most enchanting day of my life. Reaching the summit was very enjoyable thanks to their guidance. I would highly recommend such excellent guidance to everyone. My hiking guide’s leadership was wonderful; they were always helping me. And I am really thankful to Kaori Konishi for being by my side on the way back ❤️❤️thank you for everything
You can easily find the meeting point, it’s on Google Maps, so you won’t get lost. The bus will take all to the renting store, if you chose the renting plan, the staff there can speak English well, and they will make sure the gear is suitable for you, please try all the equipments. The climbing part is tough given the path is not easy, there’s Little rocks and it’s sandy somewhere which makes you struggle each steps. But keep following the guide’s instructions and you’ll be able to get there safely without any issues. Dinner is curry rice, exactly the picture shows, you might get to eat around 7 p.m. and better go to bed by 9 p.m. Some people find it hard to sleep because of the high mountain syndrome, please take medicine with you and stay safe. Do bring enough cash, better ¥100/¥500 coin or ¥1000 notes, if you are going to collect the stamps on the cane. It’s also a tough job to get down to 5th station, so please bring enough water while going down, good luck to all the challengers
This was an excellent tour. Extremely well organised and the staff worked extremely hard to ensure we all got to the top. Extremely impressed by their professionalism. Made it to the top which was a special feeling. The accommodation for the one night was great compared to what I've had on other mountains and the dinner was also great. Our guides were fantastic. My only two complaints would be that I booked this 3 months in advance and didn't get any communication from them until the day before. Wity a typhoon coming through around the day of our booking it would have been nice to have had some communication from the company in advance. Even just an acknowledgement of the booking. This made me panic about whether it would ahead or not. The only thing that told me who the company was was the meeting point instructions on the original booking. otherwise I would not have even known that willer was the company. Also on the hike, they moved at the pace of the slowest hikers so if you're an experienced hiker you may get frustrated. This is not the fault of the guides we had who were amazing. We had 3 guides for 30 people. If they had more guides they could have allowed us to split into different groups based on your own speed. But we made it to the top so I am happy with them overall.
It was an awesome climb to the summit of Mt Fuji on 19th July with the fantastic 3 guides that helped to manage the entire group of 24. We were lucky to have the perfect weather for the entire 2DN1. The gear rental plan was worth it and you just need to bring thermal wear for summit push. The accommodation for the night was good and the dinner and breakfast was sufficient to get you going. The only complaint that I have is the lack of communication before the start of the hike. With uncertainty of the ever-changing weather on Mt Fuji or any changes in the itinerary, it would be great to have some form of communication prior. If not, it is overall a great tour.
We hiked up the mountain on July 7th, and although the weather wasn't great, the three instructors were more than just guides; they were heroes who liberated us from our sedentary lives! They were the perfect combination of GPS, nanny, and life coach – professional and considerate!
amazing tour and guide from start to finish. Thank you to our guide, Saya. No point in me getting into details because the tour is that good. I do wish that they inform us the things we get outside of what's listed. That would help us to avoid overpacking. The rental did include gaitters, and best to bring small backpack for the last ascent to the summit on the morning of the second day. Renting the equipment is definitely bang for the buck for those who don't really hike. Also, definitely this hike is not for total sedentary beginner. There are areas with steep rocks, but the guides have been very caring and helpful. Thank you Willer!
The leaders and tour guides took good care of them, but the rest time during the hike was limited. Because they expected to arrive at the hut at 6-8 pm, the whole team had enough rest time to prepare for another day's itinerary.
The guides (Willer) were top notch, knew their stuff and had great English. The actual climb itself is very taxing, so be prepared.
