With klook, it was a breeze entering the Aquaria. No need to fall in line just make sure you also make a reservation in their website. We loved seeing the giant stingrays and turtles. It was really a fun and learning experience for my kids.

Cultural Significance

Pasar Karat has been a staple in Kuala Lumpur's Chinatown for decades. Its relocation to the new site next to Lee Lam Thye Wet Market marks a new chapter in its history, continuing to serve as a hub for local traders and a meeting point for the community. Once known as the 'Market of Thieves' in the 80s, it has evolved into a beloved local institution. Its history is intertwined with the community, offering a unique window into Kuala Lumpur's past and present. Since the early 1980s, it has been a part of Kuala Lumpur's cultural landscape, originally frequented by the local Chinese community, and has since evolved to include a diverse mix of vendors and visitors.

Historical Background

Originally located in Lorong Petaling, Pasar Karat was moved due to safety concerns and to ensure better access for emergency vehicles. Despite initial resistance, traders are now adapting to their new location, maintaining the market's vibrant atmosphere. The market's name, which translates to 'rust market,' hints at its eclectic and sometimes dubious offerings. Despite its nickname 'Market of Thieves,' Pasar Karat remains a popular destination for those seeking unique and affordable finds.

From savory snacks to sweet treats, the market's culinary offerings are a delightful complement to your shopping experience.
