Transport in Hualien

I had fun exploring Southern Taiwan with this 3 day pass. Very easy to use, it comes with a booklet that you'll get from the HSR counter. You can book your HSR in advance through the website, can even change your time of departure when you go to the counter. My accomodation is in Taipei and the day trips in Taichung and Tainan was just a breeze. HSR also provides free shuttle bus between HSR station to the main city, just research for the bus number. You have to go through the staff at the gates to pass through, they will inspect the booklet. I'll comeback to explore more of South Taiwan!

Very convenient! I bought it and used it right away. Because I was on an outlying island, I was not sure about the ferry schedule. I waited until I got on the train at 13:05 to book it, and I picked it up at 14:50. The store is 3-5 minutes away from the station. The store provides half-face helmets to choose from, and it is great to have a windshield! The car is in good condition, recommended!

We had a fantastic day exploring the breathtaking beauty of Hualien, guided by the remarkable Mr. Jun Hao, who is perhaps the best local tour guide we could have asked for. Despite his modesty in claiming that his English isn’t good, he effectively communicated with us throughout the day, ensuring we didn’t miss a single must-see spot in the area. His deep knowledge of Hualien's culture and history enriched our experience, as he shared fascinating stories and insights at each location. From the stunning coastline of Taroko Gorge to the vibrant local markets bustling with life, every moment was memorable. We eagerly anticipate our next visit, hoping that the Taroko trails will be accessible for tourists, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the area's stunning natural wonders once again. The warmth and hospitality we experienced made our trip truly unforgettable.

Underrated experience in Taiwan! We chose the Sanrio train to travel back to Taipei station. No meals onboard (because Taichung is just hours away) but they do provide unlimited drinks, some snacks and free karaoke (in Mandarin) . thanks klook!

Mr. Wu is a very experienced driver. He took us to many places, providing explanations along the way and letting us choose the spots we liked. It was a pleasant trip with beautiful scenery. The weather was incredibly nice, but also very sunny and hot. Still, it was worth it to see the beautiful ocean. The drive from Taitung to Hualien is truly full of stunning views.
