Museum
Cu Chi Tunnel
Explore Cu Chi Tunnels, an intricate network of underground tunnels steeped in history, which played a vital role in the Vietnam War. Serving as a base for the Viet Cong troops, these tunnels span over 250 kilometers (155 miles) and include hidden entrances, living quarters, hospitals and storage facilities.
Situated in Cu Chi District, northwest of Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, the Cu Chi Tunnels were built in the late 1940s during the first Indochina war against the French colonialists, and expanded during the Vietnam War. They were designed with hidden trapdoors, ventilation holes disguised as termite mounds and booby traps to evade enemy troop presence. A really enjoyable workshop! We got to make four traditional Vietnamese coffees, and Sarah explained everything so well. The only thing I’d suggest is providing water since we drink all four coffees. Overall, a fun and worthwhile activity in Ho Chi Minh City.

At the coffee workshop, Joey, a Vietnamese coffee enthusiast, gave us a detailed explanation of the varieties, processing techniques, traditions, and culture of Vietnamese coffee. She even guided us in making several Vietnamese coffees ourselves. The French brought coffee beans to Vietnam, and due to its unique geographical and climatic conditions, Vietnam is particularly suitable for growing Robusta coffee beans. Coffee culture is deeply ingrained in Vietnamese life. From selecting and drying the beans to brewing, I blended several coffees with two handsome Argentinian guys. [laughing][laughing][laughing]

I really enjoy participating in workshops when I come to Vietnam. It's a great way to learn more about Vietnamese food and how to make it. Making egg coffee with instructor Tom was easy, and the steps were clear. It's helpful to memorize the steps a little, as the numbers in the recipe PDF provided after the class are slightly different. The history of egg coffee was also explained clearly, making it a very insightful and relaxed activity. The whole thing takes about an hour, and you even get a certificate at the end – I know students really appreciate that. There are also promotional coffee bean sets available for students to buy, and you get a coffee discount coupon. I recommend ordering a different coffee after the workshop. I give this experience a very high rating.

It was such a wonderful experience. My sister and I took their slightly more advanced workshop, and we had so much fun. It took a little while, but the end results were amazing. The staff was friendly and explained everything thoroughly. They even had welcome drinks, and the finished products were placed in a beautiful box that came with a stand.
