Reviews summaryWe had a wonderful time in Alishan thanks to Alicia! The trip is a bit long but it is a great way to get to know this part of Taiwan if you are on a schedule, as you get to see some of the highlights and be back to the city within the same day. Again, thanks to Alicia, our guide, who made the trip comfortable and smooth for everyone with her info, insight and tips! Highly recommended :)
I had an amazing time on the Alishan Tour! ✨ Everything was well-organized, from the transportation to the itinerary, making the entire experience smooth and stress-free. A special thanks to our tour guide, Stella, who was incredibly warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. She shared the fascinating history of Alishan, taught us about the majestic cypress trees. She also took the most amazing photos for us, which made the experience even more memorable! The scenery in Alishan was absolutely breathtaking, with its towering ancient trees, lush forests, and peaceful atmosphere. It's truly a destination that's worth visiting. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Taiwan who wants a hassle-free way to experience the natural beauty of Alishan. It was undoubtedly one of the highlights of my trip! 🌲🌥️🚂
As a Hong Kong traveler who has visited Taiwan many times, I've always wanted to see Alishan, so I joined a day tour. The tour fee wasn't cheap, and the two-hour-plus drive was a bit long, but it was very, very, very (important things said three times) worth it. Our guide, Stella, was very thoughtful. She informed us in advance that the mountain temperature would be a bit low, between 14ºC and 16ºC, and kindly reminded us to bring enough clothes (I blame myself for not doing enough research; I only had a short-sleeved T-shirt and sun protection, but luckily the mountain temperature was still acceptable). Since there were tour members from various countries that day, the entire explanation was in English (it turned into an English listening test 😂). The explanation was very comprehensive, and the time management and arrangements were excellent. We spent over two hours leisurely walking around and taking photos (at an altitude of over 2,000 meters, you can't go fast anyway). The paths were easy to walk and not strenuous. The scenery was superb. Fortunately, it didn't rain, but it was foggy, and personally, I prefer foggy mountain views. The trees were towering into the clouds, and there were photo opportunities everywhere. I highly recommend the Alishan day tour.
Our tour guide Alicia is very thoughtful. She gave us snacks after the tour and of all the Klook tours we have been into for our 11days10nights in Taiwan, it was the only bus where we are allowed to eat to have snacks. Imagine we have a long travel and eating and drinking is not encouraged during our other trips. 😭🥺During our Alishan tour it was raining but still it was a unique experience. Praise God we where given a clearing that day even for a short period of time. The bus driver is an expert because during our bus trip it was all foggy outside the bus and we can’t even see the road clearly but even so we felt safe. It was like a dreamy place due to the fog and overall the place is very nice. I also appreciate that Alicia has umbrellas prepared for those who haven’t brought their own. The bento boxes for lunch was delicious and has a generous portion given. It was a nice trip not only due to the place butbecause of Alicia as well. She cared like a kind mother to us all.🦋☘️
Activity Rating: 5/5 If you're short on time but want to visit many important places, this tour is perfect. Tour Guide: 5/5 The tour guide speaks both Chinese and English, has extensive knowledge of Alishan, and provides detailed explanations of the area's features. You can also pre-order lunch with the guide in the car, which is very convenient. Itinerary: 5/5 We started by resting at the visitor center, then had lunch at Alishan Station. The tour lasted about 3 hours. There were more slopes going uphill and more stairs going downhill. Cherry blossoms were in bloom in March, which I highly recommend. For the return trip, we took the small train to Alishan Station, but you also have the option to walk around on your own. The trip offers flexibility. Transportation: 5/5 Being picked up directly from Taichung HSR Station was very convenient, and I'm very satisfied. If your budget allows, I highly recommend this tour; it's suitable for everyone.
Alishan National Forest 🌲✨ A peaceful escape into nature—fresh mountain air, breathtaking sunrise views, and serene forest trails. Every moment felt calm, magical, and unforgettable 🥰💗 A big thank you to our amazing guide Ah Fa for being so patience and knowledgeable and making the whole trip smooth and enjoyable. Truly made our Alishan experience even more special!
Our guide, Alisia, was excellent, providing a soft-spoken and friendly tour. She guided us in both Chinese and English, with 14 years of experience and a calm demeanor. She even sang for us, creating a wonderful atmosphere. We visited on a Sunday by bus and learned that the Hinoki (cypress) trees are truly massive, and Alishan is an incredibly vast mountain. Since it's an all-day journey, we recommend bringing snacks. Of course, there are food stalls available along the way.
Our guide Stella was wonderful from the moment she picked us up at the Kaohsiung high speed rail station to the drop off. The car ride up the mountain was through some very windy roads so beware if you're prone to motion sickness. We had great luck and had the opportunity to ride the once a week wooden train up Alishan but the trails and trees are still well worth it even if you don't get to ride it. Would highly recommend this tour and Stella as your guide for your trip up this beautiful mountain.
I had a wonderful experience on this Alishan day tour. The entire trip was very well organized, from the transportation to the itinerary. The tour guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the journey. The scenery in Alishan was absolutely breathtaking, with beautiful forests, giant ancient trees, and stunning mountain views. The transportation was comfortable and punctual, which made the long trip enjoyable. I also appreciated the guide’s explanations about the history and culture of the area. Even though it was a day tour, we were able to see the main highlights and take plenty of photos. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Taiwan who wants a hassle-free way to experience the beauty of Alishan. It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip! 🌲🏔️✨ This matches the positive experiences commonly mentioned by Klook travelers, especially the knowledgeable guides, comfortable transportation, and beautiful scenery.
Alicia was a sweet, knowledge, and skilled tour guide! The tour was ran smoothly and had lots of chances to take photos, buy food + souvenirs, and take in the beautiful sights. As someone studying abroad in Taichung for a month with only weekends available, this was a great and affordable (compared to US prices) way to experience Alishan.
