Alishan National Forest Recreation Area
"Appreciate flowers in spring, escape the heat in summer, admire maples in autumn, and view clouds in winter" describes the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area, which boasts a myriad of charms throughout the four seasons. It is also an international tourist attraction that adequately represents Taiwan's misty forest belt, welcoming travelers from all over the world to come and experience the rich and beautiful face of Taiwan's mountain forests.
Alishan Forest Railway
Taking the historic forest railway is one of the activities visitors simply cannot miss. The train meanders along the ridge, offering spectacular and charming scenery outside the window. Among them, "Zhaoping Station" is a popular stopping point, where visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll and admire the majestic posture of the Xianglin Sacred Tree.
Alishan Eco-Shuttle Bus
As the first national forest recreation area in Taiwan to use eco-shuttle buses, it takes green energy and low-carbon living as its starting point to realize the dream of a "Taiwan Low-Carbon Homeland." The Alishan eco-shuttle bus routes are close to many important scenic spots within the Alishan Forest Recreation Area, such as the literary-atmosphere-filled Zhaoping area, the expert-recommended hidden realm of Shuishan, and the Xianglin area, which is the starting point for pilgrimages to the giant tree group. There is also a route to the most popular sunrise viewing spot, "Zhushan Station".
Zhaoping Line (Blue Line)
There are two boarding locations, respectively at the Waiting Terminal and the Visitor Center Station boarding sign. The stopping point is in front of Zhaoping Park. Visitors can disembark at Zhaoping Station and walk to tour attractions such as Sister Ponds. The cherry blossom trees along the route are also the most popular photo spots during the cherry blossom season.
Departure interval: Visitor Center Station to Zhaoping Station: Distance is about 2.2 kilometers, and the travel time including passenger boarding and alighting is about 10 minutes.
Departure time: 08:00-17:00 with no fixed schedule. Each station flexibly arranges departures based on the actual passenger conditions on-site. If you encounter any riding issues on-site, you can ask the service personnel at each station.

Xianglin Line (Red Line)
There are two boarding locations, respectively at the Waiting Terminal and the Visitor Center Station boarding sign. The stopping point is beside Shouzhen Temple. Visitors can disembark at Xianglin Station and walk to tour attractions such as the Giant Tree Trail.
Departure interval: Visitor Center Station to Xianglin Station: Distance is about 1.8 kilometers, and the travel time including passenger boarding and alighting is about 8 minutes.

Zhushan Line (Yellow Line)
Boarding locations are the Waiting Terminal, the Visitor Center Station, and Zhaoping Station. The stopping point is Duigaoyue Station, and passengers will disembark at Zhushan Station. Visitors wishing to take the return Zhushan Line should take the train according to the schedule. Zhushan Station is an important sunrise viewing spot within the Alishan National Forest Recreation Area. Even outside of sunrise viewing hours, there is a chance to overlook the sea of clouds from the observation deck. Walking further up from Zhushan Station will lead to the Ogasawara Observation Deck, a 360-degree panoramic viewing platform with superb vistas.
Departure interval: Visitor Center Station to Zhushan Station: Distance is about 5.5 kilometers, and the travel time including passenger boarding and alighting is about 35 minutes.
