Alishan National Forest Recreation Area

It is also an international tourist attraction that represents Taiwan's cloud forest zone, welcoming travelers from all over the world to experience the rich and beautiful landscape of Taiwan's mountains.
Alishan Forest Railway
Taking a ride on the historic forest railway is one of the most unmissable activities for visitors. The train winds along the mountain ridge, offering spectacular and charming views outside the window. Among them, "Zhaoping Station" is a popular stop where visitors can stroll leisurely and admire the majestic form of the Xianglin Sacred Tree.
Alishan Electric Shuttle Bus
Alishan National Forest Recreation Area is the first national forest recreation area in Taiwan to use electric shuttle buses, aiming to achieve the dream of a "Taiwan Low-Carbon Homeland" through green energy and reduced carbon emissions. The Alishan Electric Shuttle Bus routes are close to many important attractions within the Alishan Forest Recreation Area, such as the literary-rich Zhaoping area, the expert-recommended Shuishan Secret Realm, the starting point of the sacred (giant) tree group in the Xianglin area, and also the most popular sunrise viewing spot, "Zhushan Station" route.
Zhaoping Line (Blue Line)
There are two boarding locations: the main waiting station and the visitor center station bus stop. The stop is in front of Zhaoping Park. Visitors can alight at Zhaoping Station and walk to attractions such as Sister Ponds. The cherry trees along the line are also the most popular photo spots during cherry blossom season.
Departure frequency: Visitor Center Station to Zhaoping Station: approximately 2.2 kilometers, travel time including passenger boarding and alighting is about 10 minutes.

Xianglin Line (Red Line)
There are two boarding locations: the main waiting station and the visitor center station bus stop. The stop is next to Shouzhen Temple. Visitors can alight at Xianglin Station and walk to attractions such as the Giant Tree Trail.
Departure frequency: Visitor Center Station to Xianglin Station: approximately 1.8 kilometers, travel time including passenger boarding and alighting is about 8 minutes.

Zhushan Line (Yellow Line)
The boarding locations are the main waiting station, visitor center station, and Zhaoping Station. The stop is at Duigaoyue Station, and passengers alight at Zhushan Station. Visitors wishing to take the return Zhushan Line should board according to the timetable. Zhushan Station is an important sunrise viewing spot within Alishan National Forest Recreation Area. Even outside of sunrise viewing times, there is a chance to see a sea of clouds from the observation deck. Walking further up from Zhushan Station leads to Ogasawara Observation Deck, which offers a 360-degree panoramic view.
Departure frequency: Visitor Center Station to Zhushan Station: approximately 5.5 kilometers, travel time including passenger boarding and alighting is about 35 minutes.
