this 3h cruise isn’t for everyone but it was really fun to me, it was like a roller coaster ride on the ocean! i wore 4 layers of top and it was just right. do remember to bring beanie & sunglasses to shield from the sea spray. unfortunately went on a bipolar weather day and didn’t see any dolphins or whales :( if not the money would have been more worthwhile. saw many seals and rocks and enjoyed my time nonetheless :) would recommend to go on a sunny day
Excellent way to see the breathtaking Tasman Peninsula coastline! The views are spectacular and the guides are extremely knowledgable. We also saw tons of wildlife including seals, dolphins, and albatrosses. Multiple boats go out at the same time and will communicate with the others when one finds wildlife, giving you very good chances of seeing some. Spray jackets and motion sickness pills are included for all passengers. Dress warmly as the winds can be a bit chilly, even in the summer. Make sure to arrive at the designated time. They are punctual about getting passengers on the bus to the boat. I would not hesitate to recommend this experience!
Amazing 3 hours morning sightseeing cruise tour from the town of Port Arthur Tasmania. The tour guide provided us the bright red wind/spray proof jackets, as well as the safety instructions before the zodiac ride. The exciting cruise first toured around the beautiful Stewarts Bay and Port Arthur. On the way towards Cape Pillar, we came across a large pod of common dolphins swimming and even jumping by the side of our boat! That was a breathtaking experience! And then the boat cruised along the spectular hundreds metres tall dolerite sea cliffs at the cape where we spotted some fur seals resting on the rocks. The guide then drove us around the unique Tasman Island, which was a very isolated flat top island outside the Tasman Peninsula with a white lighthouse on its top. All visitors to Tasman Peninsula are recommended to join this Tasman Island Cruise (the 3 hrs tour is operated 2 sessions daily, morning or afternoon).
My family had a great time with Tasman Island Cruise. Saw so much wildlife (whale, dolphins, seals) and the rock cliffs along the coastlines were so awesome. They provide huge red raincoats, but please do layer up! We went on 2 Dec but was still so cold despite wearing 3 layers. Do also wear beanies and gloves as it does get quite cold halfway into the tour while you are out at sea. The 2 lady guides were great and created a fun atmosphere! Thank you so much for the wonderful experience!
Awesome tour! Highlight of my days in Hobart. We were lucky to have good weather. Tour guides are experienced!
It's a lot of fun, but it's only 2.5 hours instead of 3 hours. The captain will take you to see dolphins and seals, but the spots where the boat stops seem to vary from boat to boat? We didn't see some of the things we saw in other people's posts on social media. The guide pays great attention to safety and checks the seatbelts every time everyone sits down again. Also, it was very windy the day we went, but it didn't feel very shaky and we didn't get seasick. The captain even gave us a taste of surfing, which was so much fun.
The captain's sailing skills were excellent, and his explanations were detailed, witty, and humorous. He took us to many places where dolphins and sea lions were active, and everyone had a great time. Highly recommended.
A great experience, highly recommend if you have some time in the area. Your route qould depend on the wind, so hope that it's not too windy the day you go as you'll be able to see some areas that you wouldn't normally be able to get to. The guides are very passionate and knowledgeable of the area and wildlife, and always check in with passengers. We were able to see a pod of Dolphins race by us, a highlight of the trip. Will definitely try the Bruny Island tour by the same company the next time I come to Tasmania
The wind was strong and the waves were high, but the activity was worth it. The coastal scenery of the Tasman Peninsula is amazing, and we saw whales during the trip. If you don't get seasick, I would recommend it overall. Forget about seasickness, but 3 hours of wind and waves is no joke.
Amazing! We saw sea lions and dolphins as expected, and the magnificent scenery of the rocky cliffs was unforgettable.
