Mount Tai Scenic Area

Mount Tai Scenic Area is located in Taishan District, Tai'an City. Since ancient times, Mount Tai has been one of China's famous peaks, renowned as the foremost of the Five Great Mountains. Mount Tai Scenic Area is famous for its magnificence; its peaks are steep and towering, presenting a spectacular sight. Watching the sunrise and sunset from the peak is also extremely breathtaking. Sea of clouds frequently appears among the mountains, while winter features the wondrous spectacle of rime.

Zhongtianmen

Zhongtianmen is the intersection of the eastern and western climbing routes of Mount Tai, and also the terminal point of the winding mountain highway. Located at the halfway point to the summit, it is a compulsory passage for going up and down. Built during the Qing Dynasty, Zhongtianmen is a two-pillar, single-gate stone archway. Mount Tai was once infested with tigers in ancient times, so people built a temple north of the archway to worship the Black Tiger God. Currently, the temple houses a statue of Zhao Gongming, the God of Wealth, holding a whip and riding a tiger.

Mount Tai Scenic Area - Shibapan

【十八盘】盘路劈山而进,此处两侧山崖东为飞龙岩,西为翔凤岭,其壁似削,非常险峻。在泰山风景名胜区-十八盘的山路两边设有攀援铁索,方便于游客攀爬

Nantianmen

The South Heavenly Gate is divided into upper and lower tiers. The lower tier is an arched gateway set with a stone plaque reading "South Heavenly Gate", flanked by stone-carved couplets: "The gate opens to the nine heavens to look up at the wonders of the three days; the steps rise ten thousand tiers to look down upon the magnificent spectacle of a thousand peaks." The upper tier features the Mokong Pavilion, with a stone plaque reading "Mokong Pavilion" above the doorway. Ground-level gold-leaf applied against a backdrop of red walls complements the yellow glazed tile roof.

Heavenly Street

“The bustling market on the top of Mount Tai”

Mount Tai Scenic Area - Bixia Temple

"Temple of Bixia Yuanjun, the Goddess of Mount Tai"

The Supreme Stone of the Five Great Mountains

The "Supreme of the Five Great Mountains" scenic rock group is located to the southeast of the Jade Emperor Temple at the peak of Mount Tai, at an altitude of 1,545 meters.

Zhanlu Platform

Mount Tai Scenic Area - Confucius Temple

"Paying homage to Confucius, the ancient sage of Confucianism"

Mount Tai Scenic Area - Wordless Stele

The Wordless Stele is located at the Jade Emperor Peak of Mount Tai. It is a stone tablet 6 meters high, 1.2 meters wide, and 0.9 meters thick. The top of the stele is covered with yellowish-white stone, and its form is simple, ancient, and robust. There is not a single character on the stele, which is why it is called the "Wordless Stele of Mount Tai".
