Reviews
I did a private DMZ tour as a solo traveler, and overall it was a smooth, enjoyable experience. My guide Jayce was great. He arrived early, had water ready in a cool car, and handled all the tickets and logistics inside the DMZ efficiently, which saved a lot of time. He was friendly and easy-going, which made the day feel more like exploring with a friend than a solo trip. One small note: at times, I wondered whether some details were being skipped, as I noticed other guides on the buses explaining things in much more depth. This might just be a style difference, but worth mentioning. The main downside for me was the price. At nearly €500 for half a day, it felt quite steep, especially compared to a full-day private tour in Jeju at roughly half the cost. If you're sharing the tour between 2-3 people, it probably makes more sense financially. For a solo traveler, the value for money could be better, particularly given that the tour wrapped up earlier than expected.
We had an excellent tour to the DMZ. Our guide was incredibly friendly, spoke good English, and shared a wealth of information. It was very comfortable and convient to have a private guide/driver, though the tour to the border itself was organized in a group bus... We enjoyed the Korean lunch, which added an authentic touch. A well-organized trip – highly recommended.
Very thoughtfully and knowledgeable guide. Our family had an amazing time.
