GreatStayed with friends
Central location, convenient, clean and quiet rooms. Decent hotel for the price. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The beds were comfortable however the rooms and hotel itself is a bit dated but I will still give it a 3.5-4 star review for the whole package.

FantasticStayed with friends
Felt like it deserved a 4 star for the wuality and upkeep of the rooms and hotel!
Great service throughout, food and drinks waiting upon arrival and no sign of broken tiles or fixtures or random holes in the walls as has been found in other hotel properties.

Great The good part: staff was very friendly and helpful. They were smiling, respectful, and responsive at all times (all of them, except for one girl overseeing the breakfast session on my first day) Bathroom was very clean. I like the breakfast buffet a lot: they have a wide variety of choices, some I believe are more like lunch (who has calamari with mixed veggies for breakfast?) but you can always opt out of the options not suitable for you. Great noodle soups, sticky rice, bread, fruit juice (watermelon juice in addition to the regular orange juice).
The not so good part: My room is the standard room, which means they are cheap (40% discount). I feel like the discount price is a reflection of the real value of the room because (a) it doesn't have any window or natural light source. This really frustrates me because natural sunlight is super important in my opinion to sanitation (it sterilizes!), ventilation, how you feel and helps you get a sense of day and night. When I stayed in the room I have absolutely idea what is going on outside and felt like I was locked up in a confined space. Not the best feeling, especially since I had just flown back from the East Coast (US). (b) there is an ashtray in the room that was clean but still smelled like cigarettes, and the whole room has a light, but quite distinct smell of cigarette smoke, which to a non-smoker and health nut like me, is unacceptable. (c) wifi on cellphones were decent, but on my laptop it just didn't work

Fantastic We stayed at Au Viet Hotel in Dec. 2016 and had an okay experience, but when we stayed there again last week (Jan. 2018), we noticed great improvements. All staff members were extremely accommodating and could speak enough English to be helpful when asking for directions, recommendations, or room requests. The breakfast was amazing, the WiFi worked, the room was cleaned daily, and we were always welcomed with huge smiles from the young men at the door and the young women behind the desk.

Great Clean room, better than expected breakfast, close to office. Maybe too far from old quarter for tourist. Long term presence would make having a company rented apartment make sense. Perfect for short duration stay. Staff knowledge of English great.

Below averageStayed with family
I only stayed here because it was close to where my friend lived. If you are going to stay anywhere in Hanoi make sure it's in the old quarter that is the heart of the city. Found a cockroach and baby gecko in the room. The bed and pillows were comfy and we could watch Netflix on the city which was nice. Oh and the breakfast wasn't good either.

Great Stayed here for 5 nights.
Booked ensuite, felt like a studio apartment instead. Bathroom was tiny, very limited space, felt really cramped inside.
The room layout could be improved. It had lots of space where it wasn't needed, and little space where it was (i.e. Bedside table was literally between the wall and the bed).
Aircon, fridge, tv, and bed were all good.
Breakfast buffet was average. Wish they had more traditional vietnamese food though.
Service was great, everyone was super friendly and always willing to help.
Lots of mosquitoes around, hopefully theyll deal with that soon.
Location wise, as per title, a lil far out from old quarter but easy access to some of the shopping centers.
Trip to airport one way was about 400k.
Overall, was a good experience. Would stay again but not in the ensuite.
(Keep in mind they are 3 stars).

Great Reasonable price and they have English Channel in the room, which is great. Only problem is wifi not so stable and they use bathroom tub instead of shower, as no shower curtain so every time after taking shower the whole bath room become soaked
