Fantastic Beautiful spacious rooms that were well furnished with great smart TV and a Bluetooth speaker too. The steam shower was the highlight though.

Lovely Hotel in great location. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Rooftop pool is a great amenity to have in the summer, although this is owned by a third party and not actually the Hotel. Therefore, you are unable to charge drinks back to your room, so need to take a card for payment when by the pool, also they hold private events here which were on both nights we were staying in the Hotel, meaning you were unable to use this part of the Hotel.

Chamber room smaller than equivalent at US Virgin. Not practical for 2nd person having to walk like a crab to get around the bed
Gym towels not replenished frequently nor wipes for equipment - same issues every day of stay.
Noisy pool area party Saturday night, could be heard in bedroom and was still going past 23:00
Very little natural light in the room too (avoid 429) and overlooked by another room 10ft or so away.
Nice shower in bedroom and comfy bed.
Doubt I would stay in a chamber room at this hotel again.

FantasticStayed with friends
I booked this as a base while I celebrated my special birthday with friends. What a fantastic hotel, with very professional and helpful staff, they helped with our every need. I would recommend this hotel again and again. The rooms are a bit small but as its London you are there only to sleep. The bonus was the roof top pool where we spent an entire day. There was a staff issue at the roof top restaurant which meant service was slow and the staff seemed stressed but I assume it was a one off. A huge thank you to all the staff especially Fod who helped with all my queries before and on arrival. Thank you all, we will be back.

The positives are the check in staff and the rooms are lovely with a comfortable bed.
However, after a 45 minute journey from central London (Piccadilly circus) I arrived back rather late to be greeted with a toilet that would not flush and wasn’t filling with water. No option to report via smart tv and it was too late to move room at nearly midnight. I was then awoke in the early hours by exuberant Hull supporters!
I got up tired and hungry and went for breakfast at 9.10am. Very well mannered waiter but totally inattentive. There were around 7 tables and he told me they were very busy and under--staffed. I had to cancel at 9.50am as I had sat for 40minutes and didn’t even receive a water, my coffee or breakfast. I wasn’t the only one complaining! The level of service was not what I expected at this hotel. Thank goodness for Pret near the train station!
I had hoped for a chilled morning with breakfast and a swim in the pool and reason the rooftop terrace. The pool was filthy and a number of guests were comparing about this. I am so disappointed as this was one of the reasons I booked especially as check-out is noon. I went back to my room and just checked out early.
On check out the manager was apologetic.
Disappointing stay in this hotel.

⭐⭐⭐☆☆
We booked a stay during the recent 30°C London heatwave largely because of the advertised rooftop pool and Blue Marlin beach-club atmosphere. This is where expectations and reality diverged.
What wasn’t clear at all before booking is that the rooftop pool/bar operation is apparently run separately from the hotel. Staff repeatedly explained issues by saying “it’s not part of the hotel”. However, as a guest, that distinction feels irrelevant. It sits on the hotel rooftop, is heavily used in marketing, influences booking decisions, and forms part of the overall Virgin experience — so responsibility ultimately still sits with the brand.
At check-in we were told access was affected due to a private event, although this didn’t seem to be the case once upstairs. The messaging was confusing from the start.
The rooftop itself has huge potential, but the experience felt chaotic: skeleton staffing, orders mixed up, little organisation or sense of system, and service lacking polish. The pool was also heated to the point of being unusually hot — very strange when it’s 30°C outside and people are hoping to cool down.
Breakfast (which also appears linked to the same operation) was disappointing. I wouldn’t pay for it again and would recommend heading out into Shoreditch instead.
The frustrating part is that several staff openly acknowledged ongoing proble
