Stayed with family

Extremely disappointed with our stay at La Jolla Cove Suites. We traveled to La Jolla to celebrate one of the most important milestones in our family’s life—our grandson’s graduation. Unfortunately, our experience at this property turned what should have been a joyful occasion into a frustrating and disappointing one. The room we were assigned was small, dirty, outdated, and felt much more like an old motel than a hotel. The furniture and accommodations were worn and in need of significant updating. It was certainly not what we expected based on the photos and price we paid. As senior citizens, we were especially upset that we were placed in a room on the interior side of the property that required excessive walking and navigating numerous stairs. No consideration seemed to be given to our age or mobility. The distance and number of stairs made it extremely difficult for us to get in and out of our room. In fact, the physical demands of accessing our room became such a challenge that we were unable to attend our grandson’s graduation events as planned. Missing such a special family occasion is something we can never get back, and it was heartbreaking. To make matters worse, other members of our family who stayed at the hotel and paid the exact same rate were assigned beautifully remodeled, modern rooms that looked nothing like ours. The difference in quality was astonishing and made us feel as though we had been given one of the worst rooms on the property despite paying the

Not as advertised. No Parking available. I wasted hours to find parking. The front desk staff was abrasive and unhelpful about the hotel misleading communication that parking would not be guaranteed, street parking is virtually impossible, and there were roof tops parties with loud music late at night. The rooms were poor quality too.

The heavy construction takes away from the hotel hopefully it will conclude soon. Other than that it’s a good stay

Property is under construction. We stayed in an updated room, but it was not solidly put together. Hooks falling out of the walls, flashing hanging off the door, and a bit dingy for being 'newly renovated'. The view from the balcony was nice, but the smell from the cove and all the birds was pretty bad. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night. Both nights the rooftop was rented out by parties, weddings so music was blasting loudly enough that my phone was telling me what song was playing while we tried to fall asleep. Pull out was not comfy for the kids. We had to call housekeeping to get sheets and bedding for the pull out bed, which was not made up. Our bodywash was empty so we also called down for that. There was only ever one person working the front desk and they were overwhelmed. They need more help and housekeeping should be more thorough, which would eliminate the repeated calls for sheets, soap, etc. For the money there's much better places in the same area. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Room was clean. Beds were comfy and staff was helpful. HOWEVER, the level of construction going on was intense, and not restful. I am sure it will be great when they are finished, but I question their rates and also the wisdom of their decision to keep the rooms open during what amounts to a complete rebuild of most of their building (at least the one we were in). They were literally tearing up tje tile in our hallway as we were checking out and demoing on tje other side of the wall from us. I probably would think twice about booking there for as long as the "construction" lasts. There are plenty of nice places in the area.

The construction, rooms that are not ready for guests being filled and poor customer service training for the staff are obvious flaws. We were embarrassed to have family members stay here as well to attend a wedding.

Site was under major construction. Very loud during day. No chair in room and had to go front desk for ice.
