Stayed with kids

We booked a family room at W6 Hotel Hammersmith for late June/early July 2026 with our infant and 12-year-old. The W6 Hotel experience was likely the worst we have ever had (and we've stayed in London several times in budget-friendly properties, no complaints). On arrival the basement room was so dirty, smelly and unliveable that we left after only five minutes and moved to a Holiday Inn for the night. Staff promised the advertised nicer family room would be available the next day (the pictures shown on Expedia certainly weren't our experience). The replacement room was only marginally better — still dirty enough that we had to clean it ourselves. The baby crib was expired, had no base or support, nor was there a mattress. It was completely unsafe and dirty. Our baby rolled off the adult bed the first night, forcing us to make a makeshift floor bed. I slept on the floor for the two nights we stayed. We checkout out four days early, and a staff member was apologetic and promised we would not be charged for the remaining nights. The hotel later refused to assist Expedia, but Expedia refunded the full amount on their own. This property is falsely advertised as family-friendly. The crib alone is a serious safety hazard. Strongly recommend families with infants avoid it. We have since filed a complaint with the local health authority.

Good
This hotel there is no air conditioning rooms, the window opens very small. The room gets hot and there was no fan when we requested. Other than that close to subway and mall . No breakfast and wasn’t as clean, there was some hairs on the bed and dusty.

Solo stay

Worst place I’ve ever stayed. It was filthy. The address is hard to find and then I was walked to a dirty basement room that was disgusting and falling apart. This is nothing that was listed online.

Room wasn’t in the hotel, it was in a nearby house. The building was in very poor condition and dirty. Piles of dirty laundry at the bottom of the stairs. Very shabby overall. Bed was very uncomfortable and no mattress cover, just a sheet. Location was good but that was the only positive. Definitely would not recommend.

Solo stay

Safety is number one priority but it’s not here. I got woken up by people talking by my room, I got woken up again by the tv turning on by itself and then I got woke up again at 3am because a random man knocked on my door. He said he’s girlfriend cheated on him and was asking to stay in my room as his room was next to mine. I felt trapped in my room as there’s no peephole to see if he was genuine or lying and maybe had someone else with him. As a solo woman the safest thing to do was not open the door or leave as things could have gone south. Not only that but he kept coming back and standing/sitting outside the door. I called the receptionist and asked they make him leave but I don’t think he did as he came back twice. In all my years travelling I didn’t feel safe at all. I didn’t go back to sleep until after 5am and I had work the next day. It’s a real shame because I wanted to book the same place again for the following week but until they step up their security game it’s not safe. The main door was wide open when I got back after 11pm and there’s no cameras. Had there been cameras they would have spotted him hanging around the building.

Stayed with family · For friends and family

Absolutely not a 4 star hotel and not at all like photos show! Tatty, in need of a total refurbishment and not at all suitable for families with children. Booked a twin room for a mother and 10 year old child, and was put in a dingy basement room which felt unsafe and unsettling. Unfortunately we were adjacent to a neighbouring room of young people partying, shouting/laughing, coming and going banging doors, playing music and arguing until around 4am. Reported to night staff via email (11.45pm) and phone (02.38am) who had a word on each occasion, but nothing changed with volume/disturbance and we got less than 3 hours sleep. Really disappointing and would not recommend.

We were taking off premises, in an alley, in a basement room. They odor at entrance was discussing, there was mold in every corner, holes in the floor. We left and ask for a refund immediately, AVOID AT ALL COST.
