I was a female solo traveller, and the check-in staff announced my room number loudly when she handed me my key. I gave it back and requested that she assigned me another room, and not speak out the room number. There were many people just hanging out at the lobby, among which were quite a few lone males who looked like they were just loitering. More discretion needs to be trained, even though Japan is generally safe, but I don't think it's good practice to loudly announce room numbers. Other than that, check-in/check-out was okay, the room itself was comfortable and good-sized for 1 person. Also love that you can track the washing machines on your TV.

I though the rooms are compact, they are extremely well planned. The staff is very polite. The lobby is expansive. The amenities are good, and the room is very silent. Its proximity to the station makes it a perfect one- to two-night transit place on your way to Kyoto or Koyasan.
