Below average
Staff unhelpful and didn’t give much advice about room etc massively inflated prices for vending machines extortionate prices for a more private room and very noisy at almost 1 am when checking in also the whole building smelled of weed. Didn’t end up staying after check in I left key at reception and walked out and went to another hotel

The rooms are clean and so are the bed linnens. Staff members are helpful though 1 or 2 Security members could be more helpful.Would I return to stay? Yes.

Solo stay

All of my linens had streaks of dirt on them. The lift was broken at times (I stayed on the 5th floor). The lounges were under construction (undisclosed) and unusable due to noise/closures. My room was smaller than pictured and did not have all the shown amenities. Overall really disappointed. The location was great, but not worth all that hassle.

Solo stay

I stayed here on my own (40s female). The location is good, very close to stations. I had a king size room which was spacious, and it came with towels and a hairdryer which I didn't expect. The bed was comfy and the shower was hot and drained fine, and there was lots of space to put stuff. There were loads of students staying so I think your sleep probably depends on what room you have and where it is. I slept fine with earplugs and the windows shut. The bed was actually 2 single mattresses pushed together - not an issue for me but worth knowing. No air con but a fan had been left in so it was cool when I arrived (28+ degrees that day).

Stayed with friends

The place was very noisy- you can easily hear everyone in the hallway walking past and slamming their doors. Every time a nearby door was shut, our door rattled. The showers were dirty, with massive smears of hair left on the side. I couldn't bring myself to use them, even on one of the hottest days of the year after a packed concert. The place is very stuffy, a little fan was provided but it didn't do much. When we got in from the concert, the beds were not made- not sure if it was purposeful, but considering the price, I would have expected it. The staff on the front desk didn't look like they wanted to be there. Overall, you'd have to pay me to stay here again. Glad I was only here for the night.

Solo stay

The best thing about the Generator is the location. You can get to the sights easily. It was my first time staying in shared rooms with communal bath and shower. It's not for the introvert. I can see the allure for young people though. London is expensive and if you can save money while visiting the city then places like the Generators cater to your wallet.
