The first room we were placed in was filthy. The carpet was very dirty and the shower was moldy! We were given another room with a cleaner carpet; however, there was still mold in the shower. We didn’t ask for another room because we were traveling and were very tired. This was very disappointing since we stay in Premier Inns often. The amount of money we paid for this room was much more than the room was worth. In our travels to Ireland and the U.K. we have stayed in many Premier Inns. Based on this one, the Hub, we’re rethinking our choice of staying in Premier Inns again!

Incredibly tiny room, would be okay for one but two was a bit much. Thank goodness we were only here one night, very handy to the royal mile, waverly station, eateries and pubs. No typical extras here like tea or a second towel and the fan did not work. Best for solo travellers only.

The sofa was visibly dirty and stained There were mould spots on the bathroom wall The air conditioning system was not functioning properly, and the room became extremely stuffy and uncomfortable, making it difficult to breathe Due to the above reason, check out on the same night immediately No response for over a week to a refund request

The hotel’s listing photos are clearly from when this hotel was new… because when we got into our room the first thing I noticed was how stained the carpets were. Our air conditioning unit also kept leaking water all over the floor and would drip all over us when we’d walk under it to leave the room. There seemed to only be two or three employees managing the whole hotel all 3 nights we were there, and one of them was completely useless.. anytime we’d ask him a question he’d just look blankly at us and act confused as hell or just straight up tell us no. I was never convinced he actually understood what I was saying and he made no effort to actually help me with my enquiries. The other lady working there was very nice and very helpful but seemed completely overwhelmed most of the time (understandably). The location however is extremely convenient if you want to see all the sights in Old Town, and its affordable compared to other hotels in the area… however I cringe to think I paid $280 CAD per night to stay here. Did it ruin my trip, no not at all… but I would spend a bit more money to stay somewhere else nearby if I was ever back in Edinburgh.

The room was clean and yes quite small, but functional enough. We didn’t spend much time in the room as we were too busy seeing the sights! You’re paying for the location, but the bed was comfy and shower was hot. Could have used more towels and pillows but it was great.
