Experience: that’s a completely different vibe to watch at night and cool down. The tour guide will explain everything you need to know and there’s a special night show too. It’s not very fancy but the atmosphere is great with a bit of breeze. If you’re visiting Barcelona for the first time, I strongly recommend it.

Park Güell, designed by the modernist architect Antoni Gaudí, is Barcelona, Spain's most iconic World Heritage Site. Originally intended as a failed "garden city" private luxury residential area, it later transformed into a whimsical public park. The park is a must-visit attraction for anyone traveling to Barcelona, featuring natural lines, colorful mosaic tiling (Trencadís), and fantastical architecture throughout.

The meeting point was easy to find but a bit crowded. The guide was informative and jolly. You have to be physically fit to be able to endure the long lines and the thick crowd plus the heat. But overall, a great experience. The interior of Sagrada was mesmerizing.

The Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona is an absolute masterpiece of Catalan Modernisme architecture. Designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, this UNESCO World Heritage Site takes your breath away the moment you step inside. The magnificent stained-glass skylight in the main concert hall illuminates the room with warm, colorful sunlight, creating a truly magical ambiance. Attending a live guitar performance here is an unforgettable experience—the acoustics are top-notch, and every detail, from the sculptures to the vibrant tilework, enhances the atmosphere. Whether you take a guided tour to admire the exquisite details or catch a concert, it is a must-visit destination for art and music lovers alike.

Fantastic 5.0
Casa Vicens is a stunning hidden gem in Barcelona and a remarkable milestone as Antoni Gaudí’s first major residential design. This UNESCO World Heritage Site showcases a brilliant fusion of Oriental and Mudéjar styles, characterized by its vibrant green-and-white tilework, intricate iron details, and lush botanical motifs. Unlike Gaudí’s later, more organic creations, Casa Vicens features striking geometric patterns that make it uniquely captivating. Exploring the thoughtfully restored interior and tranquil garden offers a fascinating glimpse into the origins of Gaudí’s genius. It is an absolute must-visit for anyone looking to experience Barcelona’s rich architectural history without the overwhelming crowds.

Fantastic 5.0
I thought there might be no point in coming if I couldn't see a match, but that idea vanished in an instant. The museum's exhibits are all incredibly well-conceived. There are numerous displays where you can learn about the history of Barcelona. Although I wasn't alive during Cruyff's playing days, the valuable exhibits, which I'd only seen in videos, are a must-see. Two hours flew by in no time.

What to know before visiting Barcelona

Best of Barcelona’s things to do throughout the year

Barcelona’s bookings concentrate on Historical sites and Parks & gardens, with Tours and Museums also popular and Attraction passes drawing interest. Demand rises through spring and peaks in June, with numbers much lower around January, so the city swings between quiet winter months and a busy early-summer season.

What to pick by traveller type

Families will appreciate Parks & gardens for easy, budget-friendly outings and Historical sites that entertain across ages — both tend to be among the most accessible options. Couples often mix Historical sites and Museums with a mid-range Tour for a richer local sense of place. Solo travellers and small groups frequently choose Tours and Attraction passes to cover highlights efficiently and to access a wider range of experiences.

What travellers from Hong Kong should book ahead

Most travellers from Hong Kong plan about two to three weeks in advance, with the earliest planners booking around a month ahead. If you’re travelling in the peak period of June, it’s worth securing popular tours and attraction passes earlier than usual; outside peak months you’ll usually retain more flexibility and can often book within a few days of arrival.

How the categories compare on price and who they suit

Parks & gardens are the easiest, lower-entry option and represent the cheapest typical choice for visitors, making them ideal for budget-conscious travellers and families. Historical sites and Museums sit in the mid-range and appeal to anyone after culture and context. Attraction passes are the priciest and show the widest spread of prices, suiting travellers who want bundled access or premium options, while Tours cover a range from mid to higher levels depending on depth and inclusions.
