Experience: As an early private architectural work by Gaudí, Casa Vicens fully demonstrates the boundless imagination of the young Gaudí, using colorful tiles to present a strong exotic atmosphere. Facilities: The tour route is very clear, and the guided tour included in the experience is very helpful. The audio-visual materials are also very rich. Although it's a pity that there is no furniture, I think it's great that the tour provides photos of the past for reference. I especially liked the restoration video in the basement at the end. It was touching to see the building, which was originally full of traces of use, restored to its original state. Convenience of booking with Klook: It is very convenient to enter by showing the ticket QR code. After entering, the luggage storage area is on the right-hand side. Luggage storage is free, and discount coupons for coffee ☕️ and souvenirs are also provided.
Casa Vicens is a stunning hidden gem in Barcelona and a remarkable milestone as Antoni Gaudí’s first major residential design. This UNESCO World Heritage Site showcases a brilliant fusion of Oriental and Mudéjar styles, characterized by its vibrant green-and-white tilework, intricate iron details, and lush botanical motifs. Unlike Gaudí’s later, more organic creations, Casa Vicens features striking geometric patterns that make it uniquely captivating. Exploring the thoughtfully restored interior and tranquil garden offers a fascinating glimpse into the origins of Gaudí’s genius. It is an absolute must-visit for anyone looking to experience Barcelona’s rich architectural history without the overwhelming crowds.
Gaudí's first private project, and it's absolutely stunning. The self-guided audio tour, which you can play on your own phone, offers a variety of language options. If you have plenty of time, I recommend supplementing the audio tour with a guided tour (4€) purchased at the museum ticket counter. It's well worth it – they provide in-depth explanations of the building's details, giving you insight into the history, Gaudí's vision, and the owner's ingenuity. Plus, they help clear away those pesky tourists while they're talking (laughs). • Your ticket includes a 5€ discount coupon, so it seems like you don't need to choose the other 10% off option. / The ice cream at the café is refreshing on a hot day, though not particularly delicious, but sitting at the outdoor tables and admiring the building is a great experience. / If you love Gaudí's work and architectural details, be sure to set aside a whole half-day for Casa Vicens.
You can enter directly with the code, which is very convenient. Casa Vicens in Barcelona, the first residential building designed by Gaudí, is a World Heritage site and well worth seeing. The churros and chocolate were replaced with pistachio and mango ice cream, which tasted great.
The Chinese tour guide was very friendly, explained everything in detail, and had great interaction. Casa Vicens is truly very different from Gaudi's other buildings. Although it has changed hands and undergone several renovations, the building itself is still beautiful. The most beautiful smoking room also made me want to take several photos. Booking tickets through Klook is very convenient; you can enter by opening the QR code from the app.
The price increase is reasonable, and the tour is very detailed and interesting. I genuinely recommend it!
Gaudi's first major architectural design, a vacation home, immediately strikes you with its vibrant colors. It certainly doesn't look like a typical residential building. Inside, it feels like a Southeast Asian resort. What's particularly interesting is that the master bedroom floor reminds me of the classroom floors from my childhood school memories.
It's a very small attraction, but if you appreciate intricate architectural design, you'll enjoy it. There are many beautiful details to see. However, there isn't much else in the immediate vicinity. You can download the venue's app on-site for an audio guide.
