What to Explore in Safari World Bangkok?

Safari World Bangkok is a must-visit family destination, home to more than 100 species of animals thriving in habitats designed to resemble the wild. The park is divided into two main zones: Safari Park, an open zoo where land animals roam freely, and Marine Park, famous for its marine life and exciting live shows. Visitors can enjoy the adventure through a jungle safari drive or take a relaxing jungle cruise.

In Safari Park, you'll find a herbivore zone with giraffes and zebras, a carnivore section with tigers and lions, and a fascinating waterbird sanctuary filled with rare species. Another highlight is Egg Island, where guests can see the nesting and eggs of various birds, offering a unique glimpse into the life cycle of these animals.

Safari Park: The Drive-Through Adventure

This is the first part of the experience and a major highlight. It's a 7-kilometer-long, 45-minute drive through vast, open habitats designed to mimic the African wilderness. You will feel as though you've been transported out of Bangkok as you see hundreds of animals living in a naturalistic environment.

How to Experience It:

  • Private Car or Taxi: You can hire a taxi for the day or drive your own car through the park. This gives you the flexibility to go at your own pace and stop for photos.

  • Park's Coach Service: For visitors without a private vehicle, Safari World offers an air-conditioned coach service that takes you on the safari tour for a small additional fee.

Animals You'll See:

The park is divided into different zones. You will drive past:

  • Herds of Zebras, Springboks, and Wildebeest grazing on the open plains.

  • Majestic Giraffes gracefully striding just meters from your vehicle.

  • Rhinos and Hippos wading in their waterholes.

  • Lions and Tigers in their own secure enclosures, where you can observe these incredible predators.

  • Flocks of exotic birds, including pelicans and ostriches.

Marine Park: The World of Shows and Exhibits

After the drive-through safari, you will park your car and enter the Marine Park, which is where you will likely spend the majority of your day. This is a walking park with a huge variety of attractions.

Key Animal Exhibits: Unmissable Animal Zones

In addition to the exciting live shows, the Marine Park also has a variety of animal exhibit zones for you to walk through and learn about them up close.

Giraffe Terrace

Giraffe Terrace

This is truly one of the most special and memorable experiences at Safari World. You will walk up onto a large, extended wooden terrace that is built to be at the same height as the giraffes' heads, allowing you to come face-to-face with a herd of several dozen giraffes at close range.

  • A Unique Experience: You can purchase a bucket filled with their favorite food (like bananas and carrots) and feed the giraffes directly. You will feel their long, dark, and rough tongues gently taking the food right from your hand.

  • Photo Opportunities: This is the most beautiful and popular spot for photos. You can get a picture of yourself feeding a giraffe with a backdrop of the savanna and the elegant herd. It's an activity that creates a lasting impression on both children and adults.

Manatee Aqua: The Manatee Kingdom

Enter a tranquil underwater zone to meet the "sea cows," or manatees, gentle and lovely aquatic mammals. You will observe them through a large, clear underwater viewing tank that simulates their natural environment.

  • Underwater Serenity: Watch the slow, graceful movements of the manatees as they swim leisurely or enjoy eating lettuce. Their relaxed behavior makes this zone a wonderful spot to rest your eyes and mind from the hustle and bustle of other parts of the park.

  • Additional Knowledge: There are informational signs about the biology and conservation status of manatees, which are an endangered species. This allows you to gain both enjoyment and knowledge at the same time.

Walrus Exhibit: The Giant Walrus from Russia

Prepare to be amazed by the sheer size of the walrus, a massive mammal from the Arctic region. Here you can clearly see its enormous body, its iconic long tusks, and its distinctive thick whiskers.

  • Witness Two Lifestyles: The exhibit is divided into a deep pool where the walrus can dive and swim to show its agility, and an artificial rock platform where it can come up to rest on land. This gives you the opportunity to observe its behavior in various environments.

  • Awe-Inspiring Scale: Seeing the true size of a walrus is an incredible experience that makes you appreciate the diversity of life on Earth.

Mini World: The World of Small Birds

Step into a large walk-through aviary that will make you feel like you've entered a rainforest filled with the cheerful chirping and vibrant colors of various birds.

  • Close Interaction: This is home to a flock of hundreds of sun conure parrots that fly freely. You can purchase a cup of bird feed, and soon these tame and friendly birds will fly down to perch on your hands, arms, and shoulders to eat. It is a very fun and lively experience.

  • A Paradise for Bird Lovers: Besides the sun conures, there are also macaws and many other small, beautiful bird species to see. It's a spot that children are sure to love and that will definitely bring a lot of laughter.
