Fantastic 5.0
Smile Hotel Shonan Fujisawa offers unbeatable convenience and comfort for anyone wanting to see the local sights without paying premium beachside prices. The absolute highlight is the location. It is just a quick 4-minute walk from Fujisawa Station, making it incredibly easy to hop onto the Enoden train line directly to the iconic Enoshima Aquarium or the historic temples of Kamakura. Having a massive 7-Eleven right downstairs on the ground floor was incredibly helpful for grabbing morning coffee, quick snacks, and ATM access.

Fantastic 5.0
We had a great stay here at Sotetsu Fresa Inn. Although the location of the hotel is far from Tokyo or Yokohama, it is walking distance to the Shonandai train station, which has direct access to main cities.

Fantastic 5.0
The location was very convenient, but because of the typhoon, everyone was soaked, including our shoes. We had to take off our shoes to enter, and they were all kept together without dehumidification, so it was inevitable that they had an odor, which bothered me a bit. However, the guests staying this time were all very well-behaved, which was fortunate! After checking me in, the front desk even helped me carry my luggage upstairs and showed me around the facilities, which I greatly appreciated! The hotel has a partnership with a nearby restaurant, offering a great value soba and tempura set meal at a discounted price! I recommend purchasing it from the front desk for dinner.

More about Fujisawa hotels

Staying in Fujisawa: what to expect

Stays in Fujisawa span a modest price range: the top nightly rates are roughly four times higher than the most affordable options, so you can move from budget basics to noticeably more comfortable rooms without jumping to the very top end. The best balance for value is the standard tier — it sits between economy and premium and tends to offer the most sensible price-to-comfort trade-off.

How hotel classes compare and where to step up

Economy options are the most affordable and suit travellers prioritising a low nightly rate over frills. Standard properties are the city’s sweet spot and represent a small step up from economy for travellers after better comfort without a big cost penalty. The biggest price jump is from standard to premium, so choosing premium is the main decision point for travellers who want clearer upgrades in space, finishings or extra comforts. Luxury-level choices (here represented by premium) sit above the others for travellers ready to pay significantly more for an elevated stay.

When travellers from Hong Kong tend to book

Rates are lowest around 1月 and highest around 7月, so a budget-led trip is best planned for 1月 when nightly rates are typically much lower than the priciest month. Rooms are usually booked about 17 days ahead on average, so if you prefer flexibility you can book fairly close to travel, but expect to firm plans a few weeks out especially if travelling near higher-rate periods.
