Yunnan Yubeng Ice Lake Sacred Waterfall 7-Day Hiking Tour

Although many may not have heard of Youxia Ke, this tour group is very well-known in China. One of the reasons for its popularity is the well-organized group size, and our guide, Ah Wei, was incredibly passionate about sharing information about Yubeng and its surrounding environment. He went above and beyond, even taking photos for the group, which gave me a sense of warmth that surpassed what I'd expect from a typical guide. Regarding this trekking tour, Yubeng Village is currently under development, so you'll encounter many electric and pickup trucks on the way into the village. However, there's a chance the road will be fully accessible in a year, so it might be worth checking the situation before visiting then. On the first day, you'll need to carry your luggage for three days into the village. If you feel you can't manage the walk, you can pay for a pickup truck to take you part of the way. You can even pay to ride a mule for a short distance. Trekking to the Sacred Waterfall is a special experience, but the route to Ice Lake is quite strenuous, so it's advisable to have some mountaineering experience beforehand. All in all, I highly recommend joining this tour group for a trek to Yubeng.

This was an amazing first hike and travel to China! I loved that this tour brought us to a different side of Yunnan, even though the hikes were a bit challenging but the company and the helpful guides made everything worth it… and the view as well! The accommodations and itinerary were all very well planned out and everyone there was extremely friendly, despite the language barrier that we had as we could only speak English. I will remember this trip forever, it was amazing!

Excellent trekking trip organized by 游侠客。Responsible and capable guide 大雄 and experienced and steady driver 和师傅。Hotels are clean and spacious (except for the one at Lijiang which is undergoing renovations )Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys nature at its finest. Some experience with trekking at high altitude would be good. Not to worry though because 大雄takes good care of everyone during the trip.

This was a wonderful hiking trip, though tougher than I expected, but absolutely worth it. After trekking through the mountains, we discovered a hidden village surrounded by breathtaking natural wonders like the Waterfall of Spirits, a thousand-year-old glacier, and an ancient forest. Our group of 14 was led by a very kind and accommodating guide. The itinerary was well thought out, with ample time to adjust to the high altitude and well-organized hiking trips and facilities. I highly recommend this tour!

This trip is worth it. I want to give a thumbs up to the tour guide and the leader! Asen is experienced and has been helping us avoid pitfalls. The restaurants he recommended are not only delicious but also very cheap. He is so sincere that we can trust him. The leader Yecao is considerate and meticulous, very cute, always reminding us to pay attention to safety, and the messages he sent every day are also full of details. He will also recommend copywriting for us at the end of the trip. The 7-day trip for both of them ended quickly. Both of them have good photography skills and left many beautiful videos and photos. Everyone in the group I met this time is very good and interesting in their own way. I met interesting souls from all walks of life. This trip is worth it, Yubeng Village is worth it, Asen and Yecao are worth it, and I hope we all have a better future!

In the last year before the opening of the Yubeng Pass, I took my first high-altitude long-distance hike. Despite the altitude sickness and exhaustion, I felt the breathtaking charm of the snow-capped mountains and glaciers. Thanks to the team leaders Yecao and Duoji, my rookie trip was successfully completed under the professional and thoughtful escort. I came back and felt that they were more like beautiful little animals in the forest, willing to lead the humans who suddenly arrived to appreciate the beauty of nature. When this trip is over, they will turn back to the forest. I had a severe withdrawal reaction after coming back, and I couldn't calm down for a long time. May the gods in the snow-capped mountains, forests, and grasslands, and the wind blowing the prayer flags at the pass, bless them to be safe.

The altitude is 3000m+ and the highest is close to 4000m. The daily walking distance starts at 15km and the daily climbing is nearly 1km. The road to Yubeng is not easy. I use willpower every day. But the shock of crossing the forest and standing at the foot of the sacred mountain really makes me feel that there are many sceneries in this world that require a lot of effort to get. The same is true for life. Thanks to the team leader Xiao Yu, a handsome man. His company and support have added a lot of happiness to this journey.

The accommodation in Shangyubeng is worse, but everything else is good. The tour leader was great, and the itinerary and time management were very good. I will join their group again next time if I have the opportunity.

The person in charge and the guide frequently informed us of the progress in advance, so we were able to thoroughly prepare in advance, and the hiking difficulty level is not that difficult if you can climb Hallasan. However, you should consider that it is a high altitude. The driving and hiking were both safe, and the accommodations were good. I highly recommend hiking on Maeilsan in Shinsung City.
