Worth the early morning call time, but winding road to the top of the mountain means avoiding a big breakfast - hard to keep it down. The guide is super experienced in much more ambitious hikes, and also highly knowlegible.

The contracted travel agency will contact you the day before to provide the guide's contact information and arrange a time, and will pick you up at the hotel on time on the day. The guide and the driver were very friendly and pleasant to get along with. There was heavy fog on the day of the activity, so it was a pity that we didn’t see the snow-capped mountains. The subsequent hiking trip was relatively easy, but there were a few uphill sections that were quite tiring. The scenery along the way was relatively ordinary, mostly looking at the surrounding rural houses. The final destination was the Changu Narayan Temple. Since we walked slowly on the previous trip, we delayed the time and had very little time at the temple. We only stayed there for about 10 to 15 minutes, which was a pity as we were unable to appreciate the ancient monuments and take photos. Before the trip, we asked the contact person about breakfast, and he said it was not included in the activity fee and we could prepare it ourselves, so we had breakfast by ourselves first, but after watching the sunrise we were taken to have breakfast again. The guide also ordered his own food, and didn't seem to be willing to pay when it came time to check out, so we paid for it together, and they didn't give any explanation. Because we have also participated in other tours of this company in other places, and there were also situations where the guides ate together and we paid, so we are not sure whether it is a local practice. We are happy to treat our guide to meals, and the cost is not much, but it is an additional expense after all, so it is recommended that it be clearly listed in the itinerary (we always give tips separately).

Had a great day with our guide, Ram, despite the awful weather we had. Unfortunately it was too cloudy and rained too heavily to see any sunrise, but we did get to Nargakot hilltop. Breakfast at a cafe down the road was a nice stop. For most of the walk it was hot, humid and rained pretty heavily. Luckily we had rain coats with us, but it made the walk hard going. I also have asthma and our guide was patient and stopped frequently on the uphill sections - some really are a bit tough in the heat. Our guide was so full of information. We chatted about a lot of things. We also had a great driver who got us all about with ease. He had a really lovely, clean, comfortable car. Absolutely would recommend our guide for any trip. He was fantastic.

My guide, Ranjit, was great - he was very friendly and informative. We were lucky to see the sunrise in Nagarkot and visit Changu Narayan before it was packed with people. The hiking though was more on walking on the side of the road. But again, the guide was great and I was still able to enjoy the trip.
