Rural Hoi An Islands Half-Day Food and Craft Discovery

This new tour was a great way to head away from the tourist centre of Hoi An and visit places that make food and products the local people use. It was interesting to see the production of different grades of fish sauce and taste Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. I liked trying the rice wine varieties. The guava and banana ones were my favourite! It felt really special to be able to carve our own little wood blocks to take home with us as a memento and to be able make and eat our own noodles. Our guide was great and had so much local knowledge. We finished our tour having learned about the way of life of locals in Hoi An and with full bellies. Thanks so much!

Spent a beautiful morning winding through the back roads of rural hoi an away from the city, this yoir has something for everybody! We had the opportunity to visit a local family who makes fish sauce and have a detailed look at the process . Followed by behind the scenes at Calvary coffee, it was very inspiring to hear all about the humble beginnings of this company and we all enjoyed having a go at making some! Next we learnt all about making rice wine and the ingenious methods which means nothing goes to waste, we also got to sample a few. We then got to put our hand to carving and even had a small keep sake to take away with us. Finally we watched the production of rice noodles and even got to have a go making some ourselves (it was harder then man it looked!) the trip concluded with lunch made with the noodles we had just made, it was delicious. Overall we had a great day with Man and we would recommend this trip!
