Reviews
Asahiyama Zoo is huge as compared to other winter zoos I visited. The time allotted for this trip is just sufficient. The problem is that a hefty number of animals were not put in their cages for the public to see. Shirahige Falls was mind-blowing! <3 This is my fav part of this itinerary, so I kinda felt like 20 mins wasn't enough. Biei Pond was just so-so. I wasn't amused nor hated it. It was just frozen all over with a blue led light hitting the pond. I'm curious as to why we had to spend 10 more minutes in here than in the falls. One thing I didn't like was that we were situated at the back of the bus. The view was obstructed (we weren't able to enjoy the mountain views during the bus ride), & we technically had lesser time to spend in visiting the places. It was also my fault for misunderstanding that we won't be dropped off to where we were picked-up, so we had to walk for 1km to our hotel during a snowfall. Lastly, a few things to note: - Iwamizawa Service Area was full of filthy trash! I do hope they address this as it's something I didn't expect from Japan. - The tour guide can't speak English but tried his best to communicate.
It was a good experience overall especially when you don't drive in hokkaido. The guide spoke mostly Japanese and had some simple English phrases. it was great that everyone came and departed on time, making it a seamless experience.
Tour was fun, the timing at each location was just nice! The fields were so pretty, and the lavender icecream is a must to try! Tour guide was nice and accommodating to our needs, also told us about some landmarks while we were on the way to the blue pond and the furano fields.
good Convenient to travel good places The guide is very detailed and has English. If you booked incorrectly the first time, you can actually get a refund.
highly recommended, driver and guide give their best to serve us. on time, just perfect. we able to see penguin walk and back to meeting point on time. shirahige waterfall so amazing, blue pond so-so
This tour is worth the value. Went to three places and the timing was reasonable. Just take note that the tour guide is in Japanese and limited english translation.
When on vacation we do not like rushing. We want that we had adequate sleep and we enjoy our breakfast. This was the reason that we got this tour since the start is at 10:55 am (unlike other tours which usually starts at 7-8am).
I went at the end of Nov 2023, chose the tour time at 10:00am and arrived at asahiyama zoo at 12:30. Allowed time to stay until 15:00.Recommended to go see the polar bear show 13:00(very good). From the zoo continue to shirogane waterfall until 16:20, the view is very beautiful as well.and then continue to bluepond (17:00 there will be lights The spotlight turns on and the night view is beautiful in another way). Return to Sapporo city and arrive at 8:00 p.m.
Great tour to visit the zoo. Though, some of the animals, especially the wolves, just looked plain sad. Penguin walk was definitely the highlight. The waterfall after was great to see but the blue pond was a a let down - a frozen lake with dead sticks poking out with blue light shining on it. The tour guide did her best to explain it all in English but the details were definitely more comprehensive in Japanese. A good chunk of the day is on the bus so make sure you bring snacks, a mask and noise cancelling headphones (I had a screaming toddler on mine). Rest room stops are infrequent so plan accordingly.
I really like the swimming style of the polar bear when catching the fish thrown by the zookeeper during his lunch. I had to wait almost 1 hour (because feeding time was around 11 am, can see the time table at entrance) to be able to see and record them jumping into the water to catch the food that was thrown. Truly extraordinary. After that, went to the pingguin area to see the penguin eating and swimming, really cute. Even though it was raining since morning, we were very lucky to be able to see many animals at the zoo. You can see orang utan, the ring tailed lemur and squirrels, etc, some of them seem sad and stressed. The squirrel moved back and forth as if to damage the wire of the cage that confined it. He want to be free from that place. He kept repeating the action non-stop for about 10 minutes while I was recording. Out of pity and not being able to bear to see it, I decided to leave that place. The ice cream at tomita farm really soft, the softest ice cream I ever eat. Thank you very much to the driver, the tour guide, Klook and every one for everything
Good to know

●This activity doesn’t have an English speaking guide, the guide only can speak Japanese. The guide doesn’t give detailed information about the sightseeing spots, but only tells you where to stop and when to regroup according to the itinerary.
