Ninh Binh: Cook & Dine in a 100-Year-Old Family House at Tam Coc

We are so full! we made so much food that was so tasty that I’m so happy we had this experience in Tam Coc. I’ll admit that the history of the home was a little boring for my kids, but once we started cooking, the experience got better and better. we picked vegetables that we ate shortly after. it literally doesn’t get fresher! after making the dishes, we then got to eat them, which was even more fun! They gave us background on the dishes and lots of information on Vietnamese culture including ending the night in the courtyard with Tea the way a Vietnamese family would end the night. thank you so much for putting this together and giving Tourists this opportunity to learn about Vietnamese life!

Really loved this experience and so thankful we added it to our itinerary! ❤️ The owner of the house is incredibly humble and knowledgeable about its history, having been born and raised there. During the sharing session, we learned not only about rice farming, traditional architecture, and the history of the house, but also about the values and culture that have shaped Vietnam into what it is today. The instructors were also so patient and lovely, guiding us step by step in making the food while sharing insights into their daily lives in the village. And dining together in this 100-year-old house made the whole experience even more special. 🥹❤️ What touched me most is how they choose to stay in the village and preserve what their ancestors have left behind, keeping their traditions, culture, and heritage alive for generations to come. Such a meaningful and authentic experience! ✨

One of our favourite experiences of our trip in Vietnam so far. Such a beautiful and unique evening spent with such welcoming and wholesome people. If you want to get away from the touristy side of traveling and just sit down with some locals and enjoy good food and even better company. We had a wonderful evening with you. The meal was adapted for our vegetarian diet. Everything was delicious. The museum visit, before we went to cook, was very pleasant and very entertaining.

Very memorable experience. Lots of history with a few jokes thrown in. Lots of good fresh food and conversation. We really enjoyed this experience and are grateful.
