Reviews
Booked this August 2026 with intermittent rains. The guide (Mia) was thoughtful and helpful. It was FRIDAY so our pick up point was near the old quarter not at the opera house. Guide speaks english sufficiently well. Itinerary is as is reported in the Klook booking. Buffet lunch is great. Locations and sites are beaitiful and fun. Bus was sufficiently sized. I would recommend this trip to everyone! If you visit Hanoi, try this day trip to Ninh Binh. Suggestions: 1. forward other passengers to Trang An after lunch if they will not ride a bicycle. so they can explore the souvenir place. 2. If the weather is unfavorable, it would also help to go with Mua Cave hike first ( no sunset orange glow anyway), so people will have more energy. 3. use brightly colored or uniquely patterned umbrella for guide so we can spot her easily. 4. teach how locals eat their food.
We had a wonderful experience on this tour. Everything was very well organized, efficient, and ran smoothly from start to finish. Our tour guide, Martin, was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. He made sure everyone was informed, comfortable, and well taken care of throughout the day. The 22-seat bus was modern, clean, and very comfortable, making the journey enjoyable. The lunch buffet was clean, offered a great variety of dishes, and all of the ingredients tasted fresh. The highlight of the tour for our family was definitely the Tam Coc boat ride. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and the peaceful ride through the river and limestone mountains was incredibly relaxing and memorable. We also enjoyed visiting Hoa Lu and Hang Mua, which provided a great combination of history, culture, and stunning views. Overall, this was an excellent tour and a fantastic way to experience the beauty of Ninh Binh. We highly recommend Martin and this tour to anyone visiting Hanoi!
We loved this trip to Ninh Binh, and Loi was such an amazing tour guide. he was so funny and enthusiastic, and made the tour even more fun. we enjoyed the cycling through the rural lakes and islands, and the boat trip through the caves. walking up the mountain was extremely hot and tiring, but we still made it to the top. I would recommend anyone do this tour, our family loved getting out of the city to a more rural area and experiencing the lakes and caves.
dan was our tour guide, extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his work. communciate day before around 9-10p for exact pick up time details at your hotel. i think 11 seater van is worth the update because the car ride is about 2 hrs and its very spacious with lots of leg room and seat is wide with charging usb slot available. bring cable if you want to charge via usb or usb c. its super hot today so bought water multiple times, if you have a canteen bring your own water bottle and fill it with ice. mosquito spray as the shrine area lot of bugs. then lunch was a good spread of local Vietnamese food, no need to order it just keeps on coming out with new dishes. pretty good. after lunch tam coc boat ride (i decided to change last min to tam coc and guide gave partial refund in dong. ) boat ride is 1.5 hrs some boats have umbrellas for free some dont, highly recommend a hat or bring your own umbrella bc no shade. then the last place hide is brutal but scenery is nice
We had such a memorable day in Ninh Binh. I really enjoyed Hoa Lu, especially learning about its history as the first capital of Vietnam. Trang An was sooo peaceful and beautiful. Just being on the boat and taking in the scenery was such a relaxing experience. Hang Mua was definitely exhausting, but the view at the top made it completely worth it. A very special thank you to Mr. Ben - the man!! who honestly made the day even more fun. He was sooo funny and always had a joke or rhyme ready. I also enjoyed listening to him, he could say phrases in different languages. He definitely kept us entertained throughout the day! We kept laughing at the bus! And of course, thank you to Mr. Lucky for his excellent driving skills. We felt safe and comfortable throughout the entire trip, some of us even sleeping like a baby hahaha Overall, it was such a beautiful and lucky day. Thank you, Mr. Ben and Mr. Lucky, for being part of such a lovely memory! ️
It was a very humid day, but we still had a great time. My favorite part of the trip was definitely Tràng An. I know some people didn’t really enjoy paddling the boat, but I personally found it relaxing, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. The views were worth it! Our tour guide, Henry, also did a great job. He was friendly, organized, and explained the history behind each tourist spot, which made the tour much more interesting. Overall, I think this tour is worth booking, especially if it’s your first time visiting Ninh Bình. Everything was well organized, and we got to see a lot in one day. Would I do the exact same tour again? Probably not—but only because I think it’s one of those experiences that’s best enjoyed once. I’m really glad I got to experience it.
What an amazing day, got picked up from Hanoi Opera House at 7am with a nice Van. First stop was Hoa Lu, which was the ancient capital of Vietnam, back in the 10th century. We took a bicycle ride and had a very nice lunch, consisting of rice, beef, goat and soup. The second stop was Tranh An, which was a 2 hour boat ride, this was nice with breathtaking views of cliffs and rainforests. They have 2x Starbucks, so you can enjoy refreshing drinks. Finally, we stopped at Hang Mua, which had a massive 500 step hike, which was tiring but very rewarding at the top. The views were spectacular and picturesque, highly recommend. There’s plenty of stops along the way to catch your breath, before reaching the summit to the top.
The entire process was smooth and well-organized from start to finish. All the details were clearly communicated via email and WhatsApp, making everything easy. The tour lasted a full day, which felt just right to explore the highlights without feeling rushed. Our guide, Mr. Luca, truly elevated the experience. He shared insightful and engaging information about Bai Dinh, Trang An, and Mua Cave in a calm and clear manner, making each stop more meaningful and enjoyable. Despite the intense heat that day, the breathtaking views made everything worthwhile. Each destination offered something unique, and the scenery was simply exquisite, especially at Trang An and Mua Cave. The buffet lunch was another highlight, offering a wide variety of dishes to choose from. It was satisfying and a perfect break in between activities. This tour is perfect as a side trip. It’s a well-balanced itinerary for those who want to see nature, culture, and scenic landscapes all in one day.
Overall trip was lovely! We had the amazing Arthur as our guide and he was very knowledgeable all throughout the tour. They are very flexible as well. They really check in if you’re enjoying so far and sees that you will enjoy the trip. It was wet when we got the Hoa Lu Capital but that didn’t stop the trip. We went ahead rain or shine. The weather got better as we traversed Trang An and the view is so worth it. Arthur provided us instructions and made sure everything was smooth from our tickets to getting us our boat. I really recommend this day trip. We loved it even with bad weather so I can only imagine what it will be like with the perfect weather.
Staying in the Old Quarter on the map includes free pick-up, around 7:10 AM. There will be a rest stop at the Temple of Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang. The drive from Hanoi to Ninh Binh is approximately two hours, but be aware that many people at this temple will take your photo (once on the bridge, once while cycling) and then try to sell them to you aggressively. You can haggle (down to 80% of the asking price) or refuse to buy them. After that, lunch includes many dishes (leaning towards Chinese style: braised beef brisket, stir-fried vegetables, grilled meat, fruit, and a dozen other dishes, but drinks are extra). After lunch, you'll head to the Trang An boat tour, which is quite amazing, with incredibly stunning scenery, natural stalactite caves, and scenes from Kong: Skull Island, making you feel like you're in another world. The entire tour lasts two hours, and the boatmen are very good at capturing photo angles. The last activity is a short hike, but the scenery is also beautiful. You can reach the summit in about half an hour, with a panoramic view of the rice terraces and Trang An, providing a perfect ending to the tour! Highly recommended.
