Kyoto Coastal Railway Wonderland Day Trip丨Tango Sea Train, Amanohashidate, Ine Boathouses

A guided tour with gorgeous and peaceful scenery. This was perfect to escape the crowded city, and learn about Kyoto’s local culture and history. We first went on a retro train, then on the Amanohashidate sky chairs. Later we explored the town of Ine and finished with a cruise where we fed seagulls and eagles. The trip was well organised and our guide, Singh was very helpful and informative. He can speak multiple languages fluently, which was helpful as our tour group was very diverse. He injected humour into his speech which made the tour more enjoyable. My friend and I are from Australia and this was our first time in Japan. This tour made exploring Kyoto feel seamless and would definitely recommend to try it!

This was a luxurious tour that allowed us to efficiently enjoy a day-long itinerary, which we wouldn't normally be able to arrange ourselves, exploring Amanohashidate and Ine no Funaya by riding the Tango Railway. Since all participants except my child and me were of Chinese descent, the guide spoke Chinese. Our guide, Mr. Hu, was very knowledgeable and reliable! In addition to guiding us along the way, he also highlighted the history, attractions, and recommended spots of the area, allowing us to sightsee efficiently even with limited time. If I were to describe it in Chinese, the word 'zhōudào' (thoughtful/thorough) would be perfect, as his attention to detail was exceptional. If I had one request, it would be for a restroom break on the way back, which would have been very helpful. Next time, I would like to visit again with my whole family and take our time. Mr. Hu, our guide, and Mr. Kim, our driver, thank you very much for a truly wonderful and memorable day.

The attractions were beautiful, and the tour guide provided excellent explanations of each site's unique features. However, there wasn't much to see on the Sea of Japan train, so it's probably not worth taking (the truly beautiful views are likely from photos taken of the train passing by on land, but with a tour group, you're inside the train). There are many things to do at Amanohashidate Cable Car, but it gets very crowded, and waiting in line can waste a lot of time. The scenery at Ine Funaya (boat houses) was nice. Overall, trying to visit three locations in one day made the itinerary feel very rushed.

Our tour guide, Hu Jun, was professional and explained everything clearly, also offering suggestions on how to best manage our time. Since the tour departed early, he made sure to allow us ample time to rest. The scenery along the Tango Sea Railway was beautiful, but it didn't quite give the impression of truly traveling over the sea as depicted in some photos, which I found a bit disappointing. The views at Amanohashidate and the Ine Funaya boat houses were truly stunning, and we were fortunate to have pleasant weather. The feeding experience on the Ine yacht allowed us to get up close with seagulls and eagles. Overall, it was a wonderful trip.

The Amanohashidate day trip on August 2nd was a great experience. Our tour guide, Mr. Hu, was very professional and humorous. His historical explanations along the way were excellent, and the timing was perfect. The highlights of the itinerary were absolutely fantastic; the scenery was beautiful, and it was great for photos. The bus had good air conditioning and comfortable seats. My only suggestion is that some attractions involve a lot of walking, so be sure to wear comfortable athletic shoes and bring items to help you stay cool, as the weather today was really hot. Otherwise, the trip was absolutely wonderful.

We were so lucky to have Director Hu as our guide for the day trip. He explained everything meticulously, reminded us of important details, recommended good coffee shops, and pointed out great photo spots. He was incredibly thorough, and we all had a fantastic time today! The Funaya boat houses in Ine were even more beautiful than we imagined!

I really enjoyed Tour Guide Hu's commentary. Listening to him speak in the car while watching the scenery pass by, from the urban areas of Osaka to the suburbs, and then into the mountains of Kyoto. I just listened intently, and the long drive seemed to fly by. Tour Guide Hu mentioned that this was the longest stretch of road to Amanohashidate, and also the part of the journey with the fewest sights. My experience was exactly as I had imagined—a very quiet and comfortable trip. Next time, I'd like to stay here longer.

Even though the round trip was a bit long, it was highly recommended because I didn't have to arrange all the itinerary and tickets for my mom. Although the weather wasn't ideal, it was still a very good experience. Our tour guide, Guide Liu, was very friendly and proactively offered to take photos of my mom and me. He also thoughtfully introduced the history and features of each attraction and was very careful to ensure every group member knew the exact meeting point and time. Highly recommend! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

It was so much fun! Our tour guide, Mr. Liu Hua, took care of all the travelers in three languages, and every stop was full of surprises. Highly recommended!
